Hokujo Kaolin 230ml - asking for $325, valued at $500, only letting go as new pot eventually coming my way will be dedicated to fukamushi which I used exclusively with this pot, superb bulb filter which works wonders for fuka, kaolin porcelain-like clay bits throughout, comes with original wooden box still wrapped in cellophane, my most used pot at several dozen times.

Re: Ferg: FS - Gisui, Hokujo, & Takayuki - Free tea w/purchase
Last up is Takayuki, son of Hokujo, @ 130ml - asking price paid of $125, only used teapot one time, perfect bulb filter that meets wall of pot, only letting go as too small for my needs, would recommend for gyokuro due to smaller size. ~~~~~~~~~~~SOLD!~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Joke, I cannot even post one picture. Please private message for mystery pot. I can send pics to email I suppose.

Re: Ferg: FS - Gisui, Hokujo, & Takayuki - Free tea w/purchase
Teas up last. Only letting go as I bought way too much, as usual. I typically drink sencha on days I work from home and weekends. So I'm only drinking a handful of times each week, typically. After sencha, I tend to move on to coffee (now espresso thanks to Victoria) or more recently English tea with whole milk (and Digestives English biscuits) to get me through rest of days.
All tea has been cold stored in refrigerator since arrival. I have 1 bag of each of the following. First come, first served. The three pots for $125 come with 1 bag of 2017 shincha, brand new, still sealed. The Hokujo comes with 2. Your choice of the following:

A masterpiece, one of a kind with handwritten signature and kaolin chips in the stoneware clay. Hokujo (Shimizu Genji of Hokujo kiln in Tokoname) is Human Cultural Asset, Master craftsman recognized by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry in Japan. If you search on teachat several of us sencha and oolong drinkers collect his work, brings out aromatics and body.Ferg wrote:Round 3 I think

Thanks Victoria for extra info! I was honestly looking at this one this evening, debating whether I should let it go. A video of Hokujo making a pot. The clay is high in iron oxide, oxide reacts with tannins smoothing out tannic bitterness;victoria3 wrote:Me tooFerg wrote:Thanks Victoria for extra info! Also, it looks like this Hokujo pot was formed from the inside out on the potters wheel, it's called Nanban, so aside from being hand signed (not just stamped) it is also more expensive because of the great skill it takes to form from inside out.
