Nice, Victoria!! Simple and elegant! Have you tried a flowering tea in the glass jumbo cup?

Why yes, my dear I have! The blooming teas are great for watching and sharing with a friend, but usually somewhat lacking in taste. So I don't have them often.
They are fun though!

Good morning fellow brewers! I started off the morning with 2 cups of Rishi White Peony. My cup situation is interesting. My main cup that I use for my greens is a Hagi Ware 12 oz cup, but my Hagi Kyusu only fits about 5 oz. including the tea, so I usually only fill it up with 4 oz. for this reason I am choosing the 4 oz option on the poll.

*On a side note: I have had 1 small teaplant for a while and it has not been doing well (it is cold here, and not much natural light), but I recently purchased some natural lights and set it up yesterday and have it in a closet on a 12/12 light cycle, so hopefully this will rejuvinate it. I will post pics soon.

I tried this afternoon Ippodo Kaboku sencha, their top sencha (about 25$/100gr).

Very nice leaves (no dust as this sencha is asamushi style), a clear taste with light astringency but I didn't feel the flowery fragrance that permeates the air promised by Ippodo.
I will have to adjust my brewing parameters and lower the temperature a little (I used their recommendations 10gr 210ml 80°C (176°F) 1min).
Has anyone already tried this tea?

Well, hard to say which cup is my favorite. My 1 oz white porcelain fishy cups from funalliance seem to be the most used, though. Aside from that, it's probably the ~6-7 oz cups in my avatar.

We must be kindred spirits, Victoria. I love drinking tea from my glass mugs. I'm not sure exactly where they're from, as they were a gift from my brother, but they're a bit smaller than Adagio's version and have sturdier looking handles. (Handles are great for washing up-- I also have a pair of ceramic Japanese tea cups, but I'm always afraid they're going to slip out of my hands and get smashed on the bottom of the sink.)

Drinking a Golden Yunnan this morning, which is getting to be something of a habit. I'm beginning to think I was wrong about preferring Assams after all!

I bought at Hibiki-an. When I ordered it I thought it was smaller that it is actually (8cmx7cm).

As we are discussing teaware, does someone have this copper canister? If so, how is the inner lid?
It looks very nice on the picture and the more I see it, the more I think it will look even better on my tea table...




Just had Uji Gyokuro Kame-Giru-Shi. Gyokuro is definitively my favorite tea.

My fav cup is a 3 oz Japanese cup I got as a set from RoT when I first started drinking tea 8 years ago...or was it Stash. Anyway, I instantly fell in love with them. Just simple white with a blue band near the rim. No handle. I recently figured I have filled these aronnd 70,000 times...don't ask why I figured that out because I have no idea. Thing is, they still look brand new...the set of 4 cups was around 20 bucks.

To say these cups are special to me is a bit of an understatement. But at the end of the day, they are just inexpensive little cups.

Yutaka Midori, excellent this morning. And currently finishing a nice session of this Ding Gu Da Fang green Long Jing look alike. So far, two awsome teas.
