Actually french presses are incredibly easy to clean. Maybe 30sec - 1 min worth of time involved. You disassemble the whole thing (just by turning it) and wash it out. It's convernient in that it's quick and you can clean every single surface, which is nice. I have a Bodum version of that, smaller too. But alas it is not available at least in the USA. Mine looks just like the Bodum press, just doesn't plunge.
I have several Tea dedicated traditional Bodum presses, I just don't push the plunger down when I use them.
