I had a problem with it floating too, but replacing it worked for me. Victoria's method sounds like it'd work - there just might not be enough friction between the smooth plastic. I had to replace mine though as someone accidently threw my filter in the trash..!

I still use the ingenuiTEA and it's worked well but I'm going to move on soon, I don't find it that aesthetically pleasing and it gets stained by dark teas.

As in so many things TEA, WikiCha has a section on infuser baskets and alternatives. AND you can add your own suggestions to PIF, as Scruff says.

Hands down, my IngenuiTeas (yes, plural) are my most used infusers. But I also like the ones by Swiss Gold - clear plastic top rim and gold mesh filter, available in different sizes for cups or pots. Although over time the gold fades and I would have been just as well off with stainless steel.
For Christmas I got a pair of Finum filters (Stash) - similar toTenuki's Bodum filter (but not as classy as his).
