Just a normal tea day for me today. Both my mom and mother in law are too far to visit by car. However, I feel inspired this morning to plan a trip to visit my mother in law, who, unfortunately, is alone today.
Yesterday we visited my cousin, who is the mother of two girly little ones. I brought tazo green ginger tea bags. When my cousin's husband said that they had green tea, and showed me a box of lipton, I thought fast and said, "Oh, that's decaf. We wanted regular." Phew!
This morning, I enjoyed a mug of jasmine pearls.

Yesterday I visited mom (and roughed it tea-wise) so I'm off the hook for today. Today I've tried a couple different senchas but it's not hitting me right. I think because of allergies and a slightly queasy stomach. Placed a tea order this morning w/ Adagio to try some of their flavored blacks. I like having something stronger tasting in the morning and it seems so far that flavored is the way to go, but I'm down to coconut only now. Need more!

How do you feel about Adagio's coconut, auggy? It is a road show for me today. But took some tea with me.
Started the day with elegent Kirameki shincha...
Den's bag...not too bad...2 decent steeps.
Stopped at home to take care of the herd of LlamaCatz...and brewed up by for the best pot round of Hatsumi shincha. I think I hit the mark. 75 sec at 160* 4 gr/180ml. First steep was very even for the first time in 5 attempts. Steep 2 175* for 10-15 sec, steep 3 40 sec at 178*, steep 4 185* ish for 2-3 min...and last steep, boiling water.

Normal day here although I did get a bit of a fright when I read the mother's day thread title and thought omg I completely forgot, it can't be mothers day, I would have known. Thankfully it's USA way only and I'm not in trouble for ditching my daughter with my mother for the day in Scotland.
Lovin' the flowers and photos Sal. I'm pretty ignorant of botany which makes spring rather exciting in my new garden. We've been arguing over what to rip out and what to keep and I'm glad I convinced my other half wait a few months before attacking helpless plants. There are beautiful fruits and flowers appearing from the most unpleasant looking growths.
Tea today has been a random young sheng tou which was far better than I remember a few months ago, perhaps because I'd been telling myself it wasn't up to much for months, and I'm a few brews into a mammoth amount of Wenshan orchid oolong from teamasters, which is nice.

Dear daughter cooked French crepes for breakfast, and they were very good this year! Then DD and DH cleaned the kitchen. How better the life can get?!
