Interesting... I'd never heard of Etsy before, but I'm all for it. It does sound easier to work with an American potter.
The tin thing sounds very cool, but I see one potential issue. If we did something on an ITD level, one of us could hold the stock at his/her residence. However, I don't think any of us is keen on the idea of storing thousands of tins and shipping them out to all of TeaChat, so we would need to get Adagio involved.
Also, it's not like we can only do one item; I think we could pull of any of the ideas mentioned so far.

I vote for staining it with the blood of coffee drinkers. So... reddish-brown, I guess.Eastree wrote:Someone mentioned a TeaShirt, but then the issue of color would come into play: Would it be dark brown light brown, reddish-brown, yellow, a vibrant green? Things could get ugly before decisions are made ...
(Kidding, I don't really care.)

I mentioned the teashirt too (just because it's such a cuuuute pun), but really I like the idea of a teaware item best. Something that we can use FOR tea!
A small cup or yunomi would be great. Or a chataku (wooden or lacquered saucer ... I've been thinking of chataku a lot lately!).
A natsume or tea canister of some sort would always be nice, too. Don't we always need more containers? Or a little tray to hold a small pot and one or two cups.
(Actually, what I really need is a magical, TARDIS-style cupboard where I can keep all my tea containers without double-stacking them!)
P.S. No one has yet mentioned the Tea Bag Bin...

Or we could just set Joel and Chamakke down in a corner and make them whittle us all some chashaku's.
Do something different, something different will happen. ( Gong Fu Garden )
What about a bound and published collection of collectively written tea poems and tea related haikus? Maybe we can get everyone to submit their own calligraphic example of the Chinese character for tea, too. Like an art book, showing off everyone's own interpretation of style for one single character.
