I wasn't teasing yesterday when I said a small teahouse, and let's not forget the serene landscaping around it.
I'm thinking very seriously about it. I could do this when I move away from the city in a few years.
Genmaicha in my cup this morning. It's a typical monday.
I've been quite disciplined with teaware purchases, and so I usually don't even bother looking at all the lovely teaporn. However, if I was rolling in dough, I would definitely shop for a nice teapot. After that, I would shop for those beautiful rice cups Trent and Victoria have posted.
This morning, I had pouchong. More is chilling now in the fridge for later.

Nothing haunts me in my sleep except for various Phillies players and zebra...
Though, I do fall weaker in the knee when I see an array of beehouse teapots lined up in their various colors. I have one, and I only need one. I also get a little excited when I see different kinds of teacups, cos my mother collects them and I always like to get her a gift.
Drinking some sort of green...Michael put it on my desk and I forgot to ask what it was...still getting over a cold, and I think I will be drinking iced tea for the rest of the day because it's going to near 100 degrees in these parts. GAH.

I don't really want to think about something expensive I might want, or I might try to find a way to justify getting it now.
I am pretty set on teaware, that and my dwindling amount of space, has caused me to slow down.
This morning's cup - Organic Darjeeling from Ambrosia. The last of my sample and quite enjoyable.
Have a nice day everyone!

Re: Fo Shou or Buddha Hand
This was my very first thought too! One thing? If $ were not a consideration, how can you just go out and purchase one nice pot and nothing to match it? Especially someone as poor as myself with a very eclectic collection. Buying one pot leads to buying a matching cup, tea tray, some tea to try it all out . . . . . . .Salsero wrote:Hey where is the ALL OF THE ABOVE alternative!
I have no self-control.
If money were not a consideration, you could buy another residence with a bigger kitchen to hold your new teaware.beanbean wrote: I only have 27 teapots so I could probably use another.

I NEED several more teapots. I really do. I only have two good proper ones that I designated for my Japanese and Chinese greens. I still make my assams in a tetsubin. I still scramble when I make something with jasmine or heavy roasted, I don't want to make that in my designated pots so I improvise. And I need a bigger kyusu now that my husband wants a cup of sencha every time I am having one.
There are also some Arita cups that I lust for...
And I need about 2 dozen double-lidded tins.
And a teafridge...
So "all of the above" is my answer.
Xu Fu Long Ya is in my cup.

I am fairly set teaware wise...unless I look at anything online or on the teapRon pages...you guys are sick...looking at that topic is like that guy in Vegas giving me the alcoholic drink at the Expo. Celadon is a weak spot...and those Arita cups.
At the Expo, I picked up a few Korean pots that come with a cup. They look just like the small gyokuro pots that I have been lusting for. Those should arrive this week. Psyched!!!
I also picked up a few kyusu...
Cups...ok...cups!!!
Adagio Golden Monkey to start the day.
Shincha Fukamushi now...

Checking in this afternoon with Teahome Golden Sheen - Surprisingly good.
It's an osmanthus oolong.
Nice.

By the way, I suppose that "cups" encompasses both tea cups and bowls (chawan)?
Because I always crave both...although quite frankly I have even less justification for buying chawan than I do for yunomi. I'm already embarrassed by the number of chawan I already own. (Hmm, may need to sell some!)

I saw very nice set of 5 laquer-ware maki-e chatakus on one site - the price was quite steep (~250000 yen) and then I would need matching (price wise) tea ware also - it would be ridiculous to have more expensive chatakus than the rest of teaware combined.
But only thing rolling here is my empty wallet after paying downpayment for a new car... so maybe if I win the lottery
