Here's an inexpensive glass kettle (glass made in Germany) that whistles.
I actually bought this kettle instead of the Bodum kettle because it's $45 cheaper. The only bad thing is the kettle's base is a much smaller diameter than the Waring burner that I bought, so some energy will be wasted...oh vell. One cool thing about this kettle...the handle appears to be made of Bakelite and it reminds me of old school rotary dial phone bodies ('40's and '50's).
Aint nuttin wrong wit $14 plus free shipping. tis good!
The same one sold at whole leaf lasted me for 7 years, bought at a Toronto Tenren store. I tried to find help to fix mine but no luck. Bought one from Holy mountain by Kamjove it broke down after 3 months, Holy mountain said they couldn't help me either with the repair, now it's collecting dust. If I were you, buy a portable conduction stove ( 70 to 80 dollars) and use any stainless steel ketlle or cast iron one to boil water.

I have a similar one, and I like it a lot. Of course, the differences between the puerhshop kettle and mine (from Imperial Tea Court) may be more than skin deep, so I can't say how reliable yours will be. Still, I like the pour, size, and auto-reboil feature, which all seem similar to the puerhshop kettle.greenisgood wrote:I've been looking for a chinese kettle like this too for dorm use. I think I'm gonna go with the puerhshop one, does anyone have it?
