As there's no place around here to have the single superlative experience, I'd have to vote for the 100g of good tea. At least that way I could enjoy it at home!

Have a large pot of Irish Barry's Gold black tea this morning, in my favorite blue mug.
Although my neighbors are all barbarians,
And you, you are a thousand miles away,
There are always two cups on my table.

A single session as education is priceless. I feel that tea drinking is about the experience and not feeling hot liquid run down your throat.

It is a toss up. A single great experience can make a terrible day into something wonderful and memorable.
But as long as the 100g tea is decent, and can be shared among friends and enjoyed this is certainly worth it as well.

I voted for Single experience, but upon thinking about it I wish I could vote for both.

Here are some pictures of some tea I just brewed up at work for myself and some coworkers.

Cane, will you come work at my office??

I voted for the 100g option. Of course, that's assuming that the tea isn't just horrid, but rather a decent tea that I would enjoy. The $5/session tea would be lovely to have as a treat, but I need a good everyday option more than I need treats.

Birthday tea today. I'm so exhausted, I'm contemplating going to hunt down some coffee - and I hate coffee. I've been having bad dreams lately about bugs crawling out of the walls to attack me so I haven't been sleeping all that great. Of course, I know exactly what is causing the dreams - Monday we found a (thankfully dead) brown recluse in the house and Tuesday I ended up stepping on a lizard bit (not sure where the rest is) in the living room and found another (dead) brown recluse. And all this is bringing up memories of the scorpion infestation we had last year.

On the plus side, since I worked Monday, I'm off tomorrow. Going to take my mama out for a birthday lunch at a gluten-free place, so that'll be mas cool.

I found almost same tray at local tea shop and asked for a price, and she called 90 yuan. In Beijing those tray usually go about 50 yuan so I asked why it's expensive and she said the tree used different.

It's true the price difference of tray go by type of tree used, although I don't understand what's really different :)

I got it for $30 at an oriental decor shop here in the states. It was the perfect shape I was looking for. Long and narrow so it would fit on my desk at home or at the office.
Plus it doesn't leak, and is easy to clean.
Was the perfect find!

The question is a bit flawed in my mind, because there are times that pleasure and price are not in direct correlation.

That said, I'll assume that they are, and choose the single session of superlative tea. Life is too short to drink bad tea.

I have Ito En chai in my cup this morning. I was curious about it. Curiosity satisfied. If you like ginger, you'll enjoy this chai. I would prefer a bit more cinnamon and no ginger at all.
Brewing joy, happiness and green tea, like any good TeaWitch should!

Yes he helps keep an eye and make sure I dont mess anything up while brewing!

Its alot of fun making different kinds of tea for them, telling them where its from, how its processed, sharing our thoughts, who likes and dislikes the tea.
The group started out as one or 2 co workers, but now I have at least 5 people that I make tea for at least once a day.
It gives everyone a chance to step away from work for a few minutes. A nice break in the day.
I actually had to steal a cardboard beverage holder from starbucks to facilitate carrying all the cups around the office!

i'll go along with the whole 'life is too short to drink bad tea'. I like to take that kind of thinking to a lot of other stuff in my life, in some sense (and what I can afford). I'd take a box of hand crafted chocolates over a hershey bar any day, etc etc. Though, a hershey bar once in a while is ok :)

Drinking a personaliTEA full of Wuyi. Putting together some Mate to bring on my camping trip this weekend, but I will save that to drink then.

And the good news keeps on coming.... A family of 11, 10 of which are at VBS this week, has lice. The kids have been in every room in the building and on the furniture in the youth and special needs rooms.

My head itches now.

Single session of a super-tea! Drinking tea is a spiritual experience for me. I wouldn't waste my time with a cheap tea anymore. Life is too short!

I will bargain hunt in many areas (yay pricegrabber), but not with tea. One can find a great daily green or black tea for perhaps $15 or $20 for 100 grams (100 grams = ~1/4 pound), but usually not for $5 per 100 grams. Even cheap China tea sourced direct usually needs to hit a $40/lb threshold before you are really getting something special. Besides, I would rather reward the farmers and tea merchants a fair price for their extremely valuable service and hard work, than try to reverse-price-gouge my tea suppliers...

And remember, even "expensive" tea is cheap by most standards.... the priciest green or black tea is usually well less than a dollar a cup!

<-- This morning, Meleng Assam

Obviously, the 100g is the best value. Which would I enjoy more? That's another question altogether.

Drinking Assam from Mark T. Wendell today.

PS an example of my tastes... I just ordered a Keemun Spring Dawn which comes to $88.25 for 100 grams.

But it is perhaps the best Black Tea I have ever tasted, simply stunning... I was skeptical abt the price when I first tried it, but it's fully justified. And 100 grams will make abt 35 brews, so that comes to just $2.50 per cup.

I'd like to see the oenophiles try to drink the best wine in the world for $2.50 a cup Image
