Ooh, a teleological argument for the existence of Chip and Mary!

OK, now it's starting to make sense.

I think that it is self-governing is part of its natural development.

ITD isn't a 4 yr old child. It's a group of special TeaFolks just hanging out. At this point in its development it's trying to decide if it should do or be something.

But I could be wrong! Heck, I've had a fever all day.

Mother Mary brewed up ITD as a cage to put me in so I wouldn't clog up the IM with talk of fukamushi sencha - she finally admitted it! :o

And instead, the IM is now clogged up with talk of Firefly.

I believe we are overthinking this...

I agree that the intelligent design comment was silly, but I think it still works. When I say "ungoverned" I don't mean forced anarchy; evolution doesn't work like that. I just mean we don't need too many regulations on what we can and cannot do (which I think is what you were saying). If we make a mistake, such as with the people to whom we offer ITD membership, we learn from it and fix it in the future. If we find something we really like, such as the monthly tastings, we keep going. It's not that complicated, IMO.

Yeah, that's what I was trying to say but you said it much better, Scruff.

Wesli, is that your baby pic?

Sorry, knee jerk reaction.

When you said ungoverned I assumed 'ungoverned' and not 'reasonably and moderately governed'.

I don't cope well with absolutes.

And no ITD is not a 4 yr old child, it's a 1 year old child - almost.

Haha, no problem, I wasn't clear.

I think ITD would be a little older if only we got rid of wes and ed...

Too many new member polls and not enough 'kick em out' polls.

It would be possible to create a method for voting people off the island...I think it would be extremely harsh, but it is possible if there is a demand for the option.
