I think that it is self-governing is part of its natural development.Proinsias wrote:
I don't think natural ungoverned development sounds very natural. A bit of both is the way it will continue to be in the future. I'm not about to let my 4 yr old develop without any sort of government or introspection on my part.
ITD isn't a 4 yr old child. It's a group of special TeaFolks just hanging out. At this point in its development it's trying to decide if it should do or be something.
But I could be wrong! Heck, I've had a fever all day.

I believe we are overthinking this...
I agree that the intelligent design comment was silly, but I think it still works. When I say "ungoverned" I don't mean forced anarchy; evolution doesn't work like that. I just mean we don't need too many regulations on what we can and cannot do (which I think is what you were saying). If we make a mistake, such as with the people to whom we offer ITD membership, we learn from it and fix it in the future. If we find something we really like, such as the monthly tastings, we keep going. It's not that complicated, IMO.

Haha, no problem, I wasn't clear.Proinsias wrote:Sorry, knee jerk reaction.
When you said ungoverned I assumed 'ungoverned' and not 'reasonably and moderately governed'.
I don't cope well with absolutes.
And no ITD is not a 4 yr old child, it's a 1 year old child - almost.
I think ITD would be a little older if only we got rid of wes and ed...
