Postscript:
After 11 infusions, the last one being 6 minutes, this stuff could keep going I don't know how long. The last five or six infusions were -- surprisingly -- my favorite. The flavor was more balanced including more of those low notes, not enormously powerful, but very pleasant, and that oily feel on the lips that I like so much was very consistently present. I don't think I have had a tea that seemed to improve this noticeably over a long series of brews, unless maybe some of the Dan Congs.
I am feeling more positive about this tea at the end of this session than I was earlier.

Glad someone else obtained this cake. Yeah this cake seems to give better flavor in the middle to late infusions. Agreed that the leaves are nice and the compression is probably from a stone mold. I have been fairly impressed to quite impressed by 5 of the 6 beengs I purchased from him. Thanks for the review Sal.
I'm currently the high bidder on all those with bids on them, but now I really shouldn't be spending that kind of money on tea (shipping!). Feel free to bid the minimum, I only bid the minimum so I really would like to lose all of them.PolyhymnianMuse wrote:Wow I may go ahead and buy one of those at that kind of price. Seems he only has a few things at a time though...
Puerhking: Which one didnt you like so much?
He let me combine shipping on four or more cakes but I had to email him. When you look at the overall cost they are quite cheap.
this was my least favorite....thats not to say it was bad but it needs some time to soften a little. it also had the highest compression.

Being a student I realized I really shouldn't spend the money anyway, even if it doesn't seem like much. *Edited because I'm horrible with math, but still a broke student.*puerhking wrote:He let me combine shipping on four or more cakes but I had to email him. specifically he said that he would take $5 off of three if I wanted to send it by air but nothing for SAL. For four cakes he took $10 off the shipping for SAL. So I paid $30 to ship four cakes. This was quite a deal when you think about the fall cake costing 99 cents.PolyhymnianMuse wrote:Do you need to order a minimum of 4 or more to combine shipping? Looks like I may be starting my collection
I'm working on a deal with the seller to get one of each of those cakes, should only cost be around 10 bucks per cake when its all said and done...
Of course I havent tried any of them, but it seems from everyone who tried them they are decent enough for the price, and with what Jim from PS said they might be a wise investment.
