It's both an altruistic and a selfish motivation. The newbies today could have tea empires five years from now or living in Taipei with competition winning tea farmer friends...all inspired by formative discussions on Tea Chat. Right?

Ooh a real one: Interaural Time Difference

Different methods for measuring ITDs

* For an abrupt stimulus such as a click, either onset or offset ITDs are measured. An onset ITD is the time difference between the onset of the signal reaching two ears, whilst an offset ITD looks at the time difference between the offset of the signal reaching each of the ears.
* A transient ITD can be measured when using a random noise stimulus and is calculated as the time difference between a set peak of the noise stimulus reaching the ears.

Yup, real ITDs (in humans, anyway) are used to determine where a sound originates, along the horizontal axis. Science is fun, eh?
