Teaware preferences ... Japanese, Chinese, Korean in that order (don't confuse me and mention glass right now). A perfect 10 for me. Funny, when I rated my craving for teaware yesterday, I voted for 8. Mention Asian, and it is an instant 10.

All tins depicted or even mentioned in TeaDay belong to ME!

blah blah blah SENCHA blah blah blah!!!
Oh gosh! All of those perrrty perrrty teawares are driving me nuts! (in a good way
)
I really really crave Asian tea ware, considering the majority of the wares I collected so far are Asian.
This morning, no hot tea yet. I'm resorting to iced tea until my 24 hours are up, which I haven't even made yet

I voted 5 for this one. Just a touch over yesterday's "general" crave level of 4. But I blame that increase in the nostalgia factor. Anything that I had contact with while in Japan I want once I get home. Well, except maybe natto or umeboshi. Still not a big fan of either of those. But I could easily get into collecting yunomi. But I keep telling myself, it will be cooler when I buy them on my next trip to Japan (whenever that might be). So I wait.
Darjeeling in my cup this morning. For some reason, it is really making me buzz. I am almost shivering with caffeine. Sometimes darjeeling really hits me hard. No idea why.
Augie, your poor pot! I weep with you.

Mine is at my other home in Houston [which is currently a swamp] in an unopened package. My dad is guarding it for me. http://www.teance.com/product_p/tware10.htmVictoria wrote: Still craving Korean teaware ... someday ... soon.

If you don't want the umeboshi, can I have it?auggy wrote:Anything that I had contact with while in Japan I want once I get home. Well, except maybe natto or umeboshi. Still not a big fan of either of those.
The natto, however...
About today's poll, when I do decide to buy a piece of Western tea ware, it has Asian influences more often than not. I'm currently waiting for this to arrive:

Ack!! Chamekke!!!! That is GORGEOUS!!!! I WANT!!!!
Ed, I just bought a similar side handled yixing but Chinese. Nice!edkrueger wrote:Mine is at my other home in Houston [which is currently a swamp] in an unopenedVictoria wrote: Still craving Korean teaware ... someday ... soon.

Ugh, yes. Any umeboshi can go straight to you. I always like the onigiri with the tuna in the middle. (Also, not a fan of baby pickled squid - want any of those?chamekke wrote:If you don't want the umeboshi, can I have it?Ah, a pickled plum at the heart of a fat little onigiri ... my idea of a snack from heaven. If you don't want it, I'll take it.

My host sister and I had a little dare - she loved natto and I hated it. On the other hand, I would eat non-cooked snap beans and that freaked her out. So I tried natto and she tried a raw snap bean. Neither of us were pleased.
Now, where oh where did you find that beauty of a cup? LOVELY!

One more encore, whoa, stunning! I love the branching pattern and how the "rice spots" are the leaves. I can imigine this is going to feel really shuweet in one's hands with a good green fukamushi bringing the cup to life.

Earlier, some Adagio Yunnan Gold.
Just about everyone who loves sencha has heard of Uji, Kagoshima, Shizuoka. This is from a rather unknown prefecture for sencha, Miyazaki, aside of Kagoshima in very southern Japan. The varietal is another unknown, Sakimidori. It is a rather rich and deep tasting lighter steamed sencha. It is good.
