For me it's a tie--I've been forbidden to buy any more of either!
Keemun Mao Feng Imperial (from Palais des thés)
Excellent taste, very sweet. My favorite keemun.
It wasn't available last year so I guess I will buy some more packages.

Nice set! I think I'm going to have to try this tea sooner or later, it seems to have swept a nation (Korea), there must be something to it.Beidao wrote:
Ginseng Oolong in a set I bought yesterday. This flavoured oolong - that I started my day with - tastes GREAT! Just finishing a cup of Bai Hao Yinzhen, think I'll have some Kukicha soon. Then maybe gooing back to the Ginseng.
In my cup this morning Fire Rings - from Tao of Tea Limited Editions

Happy Sunday everyone!

I'm with jazz88 -- I voted for a tie, but I like teaware mostly as art objects. The things I use most are a single-serve hot beverage maker and a 16oz coffee mug for hot tea, and an iced tea maker. The other mugs that get used are travel ones.
I enjoy a nice tea set, but when I'm just making tea for me it seems like overkill...

WHAT, the oolong queen hasn't tasted this? Honestly, you have too. Soon. It tastes like oolong but also with the sweet, licorice-like ginseng taste. Very interesting. Guess it's not the best oolong the world has to offer, but must be one of the best flavoured teas out there.Victoria wrote:Nice set! Last year, like Geekgirl, I would have voted for chawan, since I was something of a chawan fiend and thought of buying little else. But that was before I really discovered how charming yunomi can be. Oh, the power of novelty! So I voted for cups.
It's a tough decision, though, since I love my teapots/kyusu as well. It's a gestalt; the choice of pot and cup is complementary, and it's really hard to separate the two. But I do end up spending more time admiring/holding the cup.
In me cup: PG Tips, made by me darlin' man-wench. (Can ye tell I'm in denial that Talk Like A Pirate Day is over? Yarrr!)

Definitely cups, from the handcrafted variety to the novelty (recent purchase: a Halloween mug shaped like a cauldron). I just spend more time handling the cup than the pot, you know?
My customary Assam this morning, now moving on to a third steep of Monkey-Picked TGY from Red Blossom. Not my favorite.

Looks like 'Xiao Mei Yao' Zhuni(the one famous for highest rate of shrinkage and lowest rate of surviving out of kiln) to me..I might be wrongscruffmcgruff wrote:If you had asked this a year ago, I would have said pots. Today though, I'd definitely have to go with cups.
On the other hand... I do still appreciate teapots. One of my favorites:
Clickity-clack for more teapotness!
[P.S. - Should I sue for copyright infringement? That last poll option is a bit iffy...Kidding of course]
The pot's beautiful..

Today is off to a rather caffinated start. I taste tested all 4 Yutaka Midori, A Tale of 4 Yutaka Midori. That was pretty amazing.
Cups vs Pots. I was more into pots for years, and I used the same simple Japanese cups literally for 8 years. The tide has changed thanx to TeaChat. Cups are winning the battle these days.
Still waiting for a call from my bike shop guy. If the frame is determined to be compromised at all, he will call it a total loss. Now whether the guy's insurance company agrees will be another story.
