Why, Trioxin? It is a time factor or a "tea is too girly" issue?Trioxin wrote:You're all very lucky. Now that I'm blue collar, I'd be shot dead if I took time out to brew a cup of tea at work.

And you, you are a thousand miles away,
There are always two cups on my table.

Time is the problem. They already question my sexuality. In this town, if your not wearing a t-shit while drinking a Budwiser....Riene wrote:Why, Trioxin? how's the tea culture at work in Finland? Interesting to know, US is still catching up, like everything else.... I really do think making tea at work is so much easy then brewing coffee!Photiou wrote:I use french press at work for black and green tea - oolongs I usually brew in a cup. Oolongs are ideal to drink at work as it is quick to add water to the cup when it gets too strong.
No pictures - someone could catch me wasting time on teachat

When I worked at the library I brought in my tea stuff because the coffee maker/hot water dispenser produced the most awful tasting lukewarm water imaginable.
I was severely scolded for introducing a fire hazard (one of those electric kettles that shuts itself off) and ridiculed mercilessly for my tea. It was simple bagged stuff, too.
I wrote a letter petitioning a re-decision on the supposed dangers of my kettle. I was turned down again, and again, until the district finally purchased one of those water coolers that also dispenses water than is slightly hotter than lukewarm.
I have no office/desk now that I'm a graduate student, but my roommate was kind enough to let me use a whole cabinet exclusively for tea stuff. What a friend!

I can't get a pic, but I use a small condiment tray with bowls. The 4"x16" teak tray holds two "dip" bowls and my mug. I use a stainless infuser and we have two drip coffee makers with hot water taps. So, I don't need a hot water source at my desk. The setup allows me to go dump leaves, refill, get my hot water and finish the steep at the desk, remove the infuser directly to a bowl...no mess. Clean up in the evening is pretty quick, too. I just keep my loose teas in a desk drawer.
You folks have some nice setups.
