In my case when I can't hold and see the item personally, paying close attention to the details such as the proportion of lid to the size of pot, and how big the knob on the lid is compared to the rest of the pot might reveal the workmanship and the amount of effort the pot maker put into his/her work.

Personally, I find pots from ysllc not pleasing to the eye that's all. My brother had 2 of Scott's pots and both were sold on tea swap here.
I agree that the more options the better. Just think that the photos on those sites do not show much and asking premium prices for "red clay" and "special clay" would have me asking lots of questions of the seller. I have several very well-proportioned pots that I paid $12 - 15 for, so although very important to me, I can't go on that alone when trying to figure out if the price is fair for the level of product.

It would be good to know if anyone here has bought pots from those vendors and what they think of them.

More photos of the interior, close ups are good, I don't think you can go wrong paying 12 USD to 15 USD even 30 USD for a pot. Paying anything from 70USD or up I would definitely need more information, myself I have paid my tuition fees. I learned my lesson not to buy on impulse anymore, some of my purchases are sitting on shelves collecting dust for that reason.

I agree, not buying on impulse is a good thing.
