Well my cat is fussy like most. She won't eat canned salmon but loves fresh salmon. She gobbles down the premium canned crap but won't eat a slice of freshly cooked steak. I am inspired to give her the dregs of my next bowl of matcha.
Either we will have a lot of happy cats or there will be a spike in cat mortality due to caffeine poisoning. After she woke me up last night tap dancing on my face I'm fine either way.

Oh... I should have added a short intro of these characters... the kitty's name is Obama (affectionately referred to as KittyBoy or Bamakitty). He was rescued from a local pet/animal feed store that takes orphans in and finds homes for them. He had a brother named Clinton (I got them last Fall during the lively primary race). Clinton disappeared without a trace nearly a year ago... I always knew it was an omen.
And the beautiful dog is a Shetland Sheepdog (Sheltie) named Gracie... she is brilliant and precious and extremely tolerant and loving of the KittyBoy... and of me.

I'm about to ask you where you got that bowl and pitcher...GeekgirlUnveiled wrote:Yep, that would be Bubba the matchacat.

If you're talking about the purple and tan, it was from this Etsy shop. The bowl was a custom request, and she was really easy to work with. If you want one like it, ask her to make it just like mine except with a slightly deeper foot. She got the curve exactly right, and this bowl is very easy to use for matcha. She often has a small pitcher in her shop, but not right now. Still it would be worth asking if she has one.Smells_Familiar wrote:I'm about to ask you where you got that bowl and pitcher...GeekgirlUnveiled wrote:Yep, that would be Bubba the matchacat.
If you're asking about the blue bowl, it was from this Etsy shop, which is currently on hiatus.

hmmm, must be the sweetness. Bubba likes matchalatte best. He also likes the sweetmilk left in the bowl after cereal, jelly, vanilla yogurt, and maple syrup. Not to mention bacon, cheese, bread crumbs, butter, shrimp, spider plants, rose petals, and the side of the bathtub.kongni wrote: since I've stopped using sugar in tea she has phased out of the habit.

Since Sarah decided to expand the topic to include dogs - might as will revive this little piggy pic, previously posted by Chamekke some time ago. Just because he's sweeeeet!!!

Tea Addict Felines
Our newest dumpee, Oolong, insists on her taste of oolong but has no interest in my Irish Breakfast (thank God). I was making another batch of green powdery tea in white chocolate and she sniffed in it, blew it across the counter and several of them started licking it up like drug addicts. The green tongues were rather strange looking and they acted rather doped. Just what we need in the house, more tea addicts.
Our vet says if the cats have to imbibe, to limit their consumption and stick with the teas with lower caffeine levels. I put some of the unnamed green in an old baby sock and made a mouse for them to play with. I am praying that the green doesn't turn out to be an expensive one. The unknown tea is powdered and looks rather like dry yellow green algae.

Jeanne - I never met a tea pot I didn't like.
