TeaChat has helped me learn more about teas and has led me to do reasearch into the different teas. This has led to better preparation, better choices of different types of teas, and therefore better enjoyment.

Darjeeling in the cup at this time. I got busy and let it steep WAY too long..but I'll tough it out and do better next cup! :D

Boy, you guys have me on a tight schedule this week! OK, here's 5 if you count the big duplicate.

The name sounds vaguely offensive, but it's just Chinese Green Tea.

So far TeaChat has helped me put the word out for my blog. It's also helped me for some of the random questions that I've had about tea. I don't get answers to all my questions but I get satisfying responses from people most of the time.

Most of all, TeaChat has simply helped me become a part of the tea-drinking community, and it's also tempted me to spend much more money then I should on tea and tea-related goods. Here's looking forward to the future!

On the other hand, enjoying the free sample from Plucker's Pick from a promotion a while ago. It's a Ceylon Single-Estate Black tea. I've never had Indian Black tea before so it's very interesting...I like it very much actually and I'm eager to try new ones now

Hummm someone else said this yesterday, can you please clarify? I am unsure of what you mean. Do you mean you posted a question and no one replied? Or are you saying no one knew the answer and could not redirect you? I really hate to think that two newer members feel that the board is non-responsive to them.

In my cup this morning Adagio Yunnan Gold.

Have a nice day everyone!

I mean that I posted a question and no one knew the answer and couldn't really redirect me. It was a really obscure question so I wasn't expecting a answer, but I was just curious. I asked about water hardness/softness and how have people "manipulated" these two factors and in what way to make tea taste better.

Don't get me wrong though, the board is very responsive to me, I usually get the answers I want by looking through different threads and whatnot. Maybe it's also because I just started so I haven't figured out where I should ask my question.

Thanks Victoria, it's because of people like you that I've been able to feel welcomed on TeaChat. At first I was afraid that I would be awkward, that my questions would be stupid, or that I wouldn't be able to contribute anything to TeaChat. Just after a few days though, I was clearly proven wrong on these worries.

I voted "Encouragement to try new teas, etc" after some deliberation. Mostly in the sense that it opened my eyes to all the other teas and vendors out there that I might not have found otherwise - or at least taken a lot longer to do it. Then, once I found the new teas, TC helped me figure out how to brew them!

It is official, I have a sinus infection. It isn't bad (yet) so I'm trying to treat with tea before having to go to the doctor. Because doctor = antibiotic and I'm already allergic to seven of them so getting prescribed a new one is always an adventure. And expensive. And one step closer to being allergic to 8 antibiotics.

On the plus side, I got a new perfume yesterday so every so often I smell my wrist and smile. Yay for yummy smells! :D

I can only vote on one? When I first started, I suppose the biggest thing was learning more about tea. That, of course, led me to proper brewing, trying new teas, and different teawares.
"Narrow my tea focus", indeed! How exactly does that happen?

Stated the day with some delicious Magnolia Oolong. Now on to Pouchong - a bit weak even for me, should have used more leaf.
"Top off the tea... it lubricates the grey matter."

I voted #2. You all are bad for the wallet. :)

I was sick this morning, so I'm treating myself to some golden monkey.

One thing I find interesting: I started off making 14oz mugs of tea. Now I'm wanting to move to smaller cups and have my tea a little at a time instead of all at once. It's because I have to rush to drink the mugful once it's cooled off to drinkable temp. I think I need to get a small teapot and a small cup and pour myself just a bit at a time...

Learning new brewing methods would have to be my first choice. When I came here, I English brewed almost everything. Learning gongfu and even semi gongfu has enriched my enjoyment of tea tremendously. After that, learning more and more about tea. I always want to learn more.

I had a great first session today with Yame Gyokuro from O-Cha. Now I am diving into the Oolong box.

Sal- I think I like the stewing leaves pic the best. The bubbles in the cup are so beautiful!

I know sooooo much more about tea now, especially green teas. Thanks everyone for the lively and informative conversations!

Having some organic fukamushi right now. This batch has a nice pronounced 'toasty' flavor to it that I'm totally loving! :D Mmmmm!

Have a wonderful Tuesday tea day everone!

WOW! For me what a thought provoking question. Chip, you did it again...here you go making us think

As Sarah so eloquently stated yesterday, 'the tea knowledge and willingness to help' is abundantly clear to anyone who reads the posts.

I chose this forum not only for the overflowing wealth of tea knowledge, but also had an alternative motive, as I wanted to meet people with "tea passions" that could share their daily tea lives with me and possibly become 'tea friends'. Yeah!

I know I am sooo new to the forum, but I have received very nice comments on the forum and through pms. Most of what I have learned so far is from reading through the posts in each of the topics that are of interest to me. I really haven't asked any questions yet! I am really green behind my ears with every area of teas! I know what I like, yet yearn for more.

As a newbie and as the question is stated, I would have to say that new brewing methods would definately be first with #2 running a close second! I honestly had no idea of the enormity of the teas out there! Ugh..I may need to get a 2nd job!

I fear my wallet and savings will be taking a hit very soon. I just checked out the teaware post enmass last eve..wow what a major case of the I WANTS I have today. Green with envy [/b, almost drooling, after seeing some of the teaware pics!!! I surely have a long way to go, but I am enjoying the ride!

Caligatia, hope you are feeling better, oolong helped me the other day.

Sal, that pic is delicious! thanks for making me smile. 8)

In my cup right now is water, however I did start the day with Silver Needle.
Have a FAB TeaDAy all.

Oh, boy, I voted "something else" because I really feel like "all of the above." I guess overall it's been just learning more about tea. I had no idea that so many varieties of tea existed within the categories of black, oolong, green, etc.

Plus, everyone's so friendly and helpful. I think that's the best TeaChat side effect.

This morning, more of Soapy's Raspberry Lime Rickey, iced.
