Re: Thursday TeaDay 10/16/08 TeaChat TeaWare TeaJourney?
Maybe it depended on what black tea you were drinking to begin with?Chip wrote:It appears, new members whose favorite tea was black when they joined had a better chance to change than someone joining who drank oolong, green or pu-erh. You can still vote and discuss yesterday's topic.
When I joined, I had already searched out higher quality black teas, was already ordering quality blends from Britain, had tried estate teas and single-variety teas. That preference for good quality black tea hasn't changed at all. Perhaps if I'd joined having only had Constant Comment or Lipton bags, I might have changed my preferences.
Hmm, wonder what the mysterious red announcement will be?
Am off to make banana-pecan muffins, a fruit smoothie, and a pot of Assam. It's cold here today...

Good morning All! I was 'jonesing' for TeaDay all day yesterday, was out of studio until the wee hours this am and just didn't have time to check in!
I am somewhat of a minimalist, alot of that has to do with current space available. However as previously stated, I am GREEN with envy re: all the spectacular teaware pics I have seen posted here, so right now I am actually shopping for some items I now deem as staples for my tea journey. Things I just never knew existed or that I would need to brew the 'perfect tea' for me.
Thanks TeaChat/TeaDay for helping me to find a purpose to rid myself of that unnecessay money I have been hoarding! Albeit, it is not that much
Oy, as you Teachatters say, what fun I am having.
No tea yet, ugh, how can that be? Looks like sencha to start and something oolong later, probably # 40 again, oh is that smooth. Have a FAB TeaDay!

Somewhat - mostly it introduced me to styles that I wasn't aware of before. I still use my pre-TC teapot the most (lilac beehouse for my morning black) but have added a few things. A pic GeekGirl posted a while back pushed me into finally finding a glass teapot and now that is my second most used pot. Tastes in cups hasn't really changed. Hagi still scares me.
It hasn't really changed; I own a few wares here and there after joining Teachat but still stick to my ingenuiTEA for my daily tea at work.
This morning, I'm just sipping on some keemun concerto that my friend decided to share with me. Not my fave but heck, I can't be rude...

Tea tea tea... I like tea...
I just got to watch this and it was great! Thanks for sharing this awesome bit!!Space Samurai wrote: Though it has nothing to do with tea, it has something to do with the Japanese, and they're all about tea, and mostly watching it completely made my morning, so I decided to share it: http://www.hulu.com/watch/20337/saturda ... ese-office

Humm that looks pretty good for travel. Thanks, I might pick uptoastedtoads wrote: Although I do use my timolino travette for blacks still, that thing keeps tea warm all day. http://www.timolino.com/products/pce52vte.htm

Prior to joining TeaChat, I was already using kyuusu, "wabi" yunomi, and more chawan than you can shake a stick at.
Thanks to this place and its enabling inhabitants
, I'm now awash with more yunomi (Salsero got me fired up with his sexy photos of Japanese porcelain cups and their white interiors!), plus a small number of gaiwan.
So, my teaware collection hasn't changed hugely, but it has expanded a wee bit - especially on the leaf-tea, steeped-not-whisked side of things.

Drinking a heavily sweetened extra strong gunpowder and peppermint blend for a wakeup call today.
Teaware has hit me almost harder than tea. I started out in love with my IngenuiTEA. I still love it but I only really use the bigger iced one now. Now I've also got an electric kettle, plans to get one with temperature controls, a TriniTEA for when I'm not up for the hands on approach, infusers galore, teapots left and right, and I even disturb myself with how many mugs and teacups I've acquired. I have issues!

Obviously tea something or something tea. Thanks!
What's in your cup right now Saint Green?
Does this have anything to do with the announcement? Inquiring minds want to know
O-cha o itadakimasu. "I'll have tea please." A private lesson from a geisha.

Special sencha session of Chiran Supreme from O-Cha to start the day. Adagio Golden Monkey was next.
