*laughing* Gingko, you've got the same addiction problems as I do. Maybe we should form a support group.
I have way more tins, as I've been collecting them for years. They line the plate rack of my kitchen, two layers deep, all around the room. There's easily a hundred cool tins, boxes, and metal-glass-porcelain containers.
Yunnan Gold in my pot this morning. God, that's good, rich tea. I find myself just craving it throughout the day.
I answered "Tea"... but realized after I voted, that if you count every tea tin I have including all my little Adagio sampler tins, I may indeed have more tins. The reason is that I have a gathering collection of empty tins as I use up samples I've bought. But, then again, I also have quite a few teas that are not in a tin yet. So, I guess that balances it out.
I got new samples from Adagio yesterday... all the new ones, yay! I tried Emerald Needle yesterday and wasn't wow'd, but I will rebrew it later and try more leaf, as it seemed too weak and not very flavorful for me.
Last night I tried the Golden Spring, which actually reminded me quite a bit of the Golden Monkey... medium-dark brew, sweet fruit-like fragrance, smooth in the mouth, gentle sweet aftertaste... very nice. If you like Monkey, I think you will certainly like this.
In my cup this morning is Yunnan Noir. Wow... dark, kick-your-behind, bold tea. Lots bolder than Yunnan Gold or Jig. Gorgeous rolled black leaves, unfurled very prettily in my glass pot, and made a verrrry dark brew which packed a strong punch. I couldn't drink this one unsweetened, but with a touch of sugar, a ton of complexities came out with each sip... sort of a dark molasses taste with dark chocolate mixed in, sometimes a hint of caramel, more astringent than the Golden Spring, very nice if you like to venture far into the darkness.
Have a great Tea Day!

***This organic blend is earthy & spicy, with a fragrant aroma & smooth flavor to captivate the senses. Naturally sweetened in the Kentucky sunshine & infused with natural energy. Equally delicious when served piping hot or crisply chilled.***
I voted cups since I am at home...teas are a very close second. At the office, definately teas - I think I have 7 different loose teas in my "tea drawer".
I will confess that my tea "cup" collection is pretty lame. That, however, can be remedied!
Thanks for everyone's kind words yesterday about my old cat Licorice. I'm back from the vet's and he is now with his mother in the backyard. I was a young 37 when he was born in our new house in Texas and my eldest son, now a former Marine, was only 8 years old.
Thanks for letting me vent a bit. We've got three other cats in the house and life will continue on. But, Licorice was my "old man" and I'll miss him.
Almost forgot, I had a nice strong cup of Irish Breakfast before heading out this morning.

More teas of course. I'm not allowed to collect too many cups and pots because we're running out of space for them. With teas, it's easier to store them on my tea counter, stacking each other.
This morning, I'm about to brew some ginger tea and have with my intense dark chocolate w/ orange pieces.

Tea for me.
This morning I'm enjoying a 2nd steep of Glenburn Wiry Vintage Darjeeling, courtesy of the most generous Victoria. It's very good but I need to drink a bit more before offering any thoughts on it. Definitely on the GOOD side, though!
Thanks, Victoria!
(now I need to try to win the lottery to support my growing Nilgiri / Darjeeling habit!)

Well, it is "emptier" but I seem to have accumulated (I refer to it as collecting of course, til I realize how silly it is) almost 10 years worth of tins by never throwing them away.olivierco wrote:Is your teafridge empty?Chip wrote:Likely more tins. I really do not have as many teas as most people. Perhaps as time goes by, tea drinkers have fewer teas on hand (obvious exception being pu-erh collectors and those who are aging oolong).![]()
Karigane gyokuro this afternoon.
This will be remedied somewhat as I have decided it is time to part ways with muchos tins of flavored RoT that still have bleh tea from 1999. I will never get rid of the flavor aroma in those tins, so, those will be the first to go. A small victory. I am focused on Asian tins, but it is still hard to throw away my "TeaRoots."

Oolong earlier and now Yame Gyokuro.
I want to pan fire some barley today.

Chad, I am soo, soo sorry for the loss of your friend. It hurts alot, I know, keep hold of all those fond memories. Lots of hugs!!!!!chad wrote: Thanks for letting me vent a bit. We've got three other cats in the house and life will continue on. But, Licorice was my "old man" and I'll miss him.
Chip, is there maybe a catpoll in our future one day?
Keeman in my cup in honor of Licorice, Gyrokuro for Delilah will be next; then, another black in honor of my cat Mordor, and then a sencha for my kitty Sencha!
Right now I believe I have more cups than anything, especially since I can create theml! My mlom's house in Pa is virtually void of tea xcept that which I brought w/me... now I have to c if I can buy tea locally... any help?
I counted things this morning.
Teas: 10 actual teas, 12 herbals
Pots: 4 in my dorm, 1 at home
Cups: 4 in my dorm, at least 6 at home
Tins: 23 empty tins in my dorm and a bag more at home
Tins definitely win out for me though all of them were filled with tea at some point. I have a good collection of Adagio sample tins that I am saving for whenever either box pass arrives. Still waiting, but at least I will be ready for when I get it.
This morning, I am drinking the last bits of 2005 Shui Xian Wuyi. It is sad to finish up this tea since it is so good.
