I work Sundays from around 10:30a-5:30p. We should be busy today too, it's nice out and the chef (by bf) is making some sort of pork tenderloin with sweet potato & chorizo hash for a lunch special. Time to feed the tourists.
Drinking some Keemun Mao Feng Treasure with my eggs and toast this morning.

I have just had Keemun Rhapsody.
Nice addition to Adagio's line up: smooth tea with a not too overwhelming smokiness.

Many sympathies from here...I have it too and have been cursing the weather changes lately. Wrapping my hands around a warn mug helps a bit, though, if only psychologically.treazure wrote:Haven't even gotten to sleep yet, despite doc's kickapoo sleeping tablet. grumble.
Yunnan Gold again in my mug. At which point do I qualify as an addict?
I'm actually here MORE on the weekends than the weekdays, as my work situation makes it difficult to log on, read, and post anywhere.
Chip, you need another poll--does your work day interfere with your tea, or does your tea interfere with your work?

This morning I'm enjoying some Parkside Estate Handmade Nilgiri Oolong from Strand Tea. To me this is very much like the Glendale Handmade Nilgiri from TeaSource. The leaves look almost identical, so I don't know exactly why they classify is as an oolong. At any rate, it's good stuff!
Sal, Kodak used to have a feature where you could make a book of photos and choose different covers, etc. That might be a bit expensive if you were to do a lot of them, but might be more cooperative as far as your cropping goes. Lovely photo today, as usual, BTW!
Brandon, even if you're breaking the "no repeat props" rule, I like the photo with the stones best today. Another zen moment captured!

I went with other since my Sundays are generally a combination of a few things. I've been dealing with head cold for the past few days so I will probably be vegetating and watching the end of the James Bond movie that I fell asleep to last night until my head stops throbbing enough that I can concentrate on homework and studying. Then I will maybe try reading my book again or watch another movie.
Currently in my cup is some sencha.

This means print at home, right? Lulu won't take my Word draft and turn it into a book, would they?Carnelian wrote: you can put photos into the layout of a standard book
I don't think I could print and bind for as low a price as Lulu does it ... and it's still $25 + $5 shipping for 129 photos on 33 pages.
I guess I have to get a globe now.brandon wrote:... Salsero was pretty irrate that I reused dark stones ...

Edit to change "can" to "can't" -- sorry, BH, no world domination for you!

Actually, when you leave the photo book section and go into the standard paperback and hardcover areas of Lulu, the recommended way to give them your work is in a Word Document. At school I kinda student led a class project where we wrote and illustrated children's books and printed them through Lulu.Salsero wrote:This means print at home, right? Nice photos Brandon and Sal!
I will have to think about the poll.
Started the day with the last session of asamushi. I suspect that this was mislabeled or packaged. It was very good, but it was FUKAMUSHI! Sweetie was loving it, while others were more into being spectators including Lilli, Honi Belle, and Pyrit.
On the road with some teabags for the rest of the day.

Re: Adagio Emerald Needle
Depending on the results from Lulu, you may also want to take a look at blurb.com.Salsero wrote:some unusual ones like today spending hours self-indulgently creating a vanity collection of photos in Lulu as per Carnelian's suggestion. Of course the spots where you put the photos are not the same shape as the photos so they get all kinds of sliced up and mutilated.
Still, after putting in some time, I was curious to see what it looks like in print and did just what I said I would never do: ordered a copy of it! If the print quality is acceptable I will let TeaChatters know where they can get a copy. Turns out each time you add a page the price goes up, so the pressure is to squeeze as many photos onto a page as possible to keep the price down, but then the pictures are too small to be worth it.
Sundays are usually kind of a "me" day. I do whatever I feel like doing to relax. Sometimes that means I'm around the internets MORE than the rest of the week.
Yesterday I met a few flickrites for a photowalk in a historic graveyard here in Portland. I was a touch disappointed because they arrived at 2, the light was the best between 3-4, but I couldn't get there until 3:45. fah. Still, I got a couple of good shots. If you're curious, click the www link at the bottom of the post to see my flickr page.
Fujian Baroque this morning, one of the new black tea offerings from Adagio. It's quite good, but perhaps a touch too mild for me? I really liked the Golden Spring I tasted yesterday, it was still a very mild tea but seemed somehow more robust? Contradictory, I know. I've never been very good at describing nuance when it comes to tea, wine, beer...
friday and saturday are procrastination days, sunday is frantic homework day.
I had an awesome sunday afternoon today.
My friend bestowed a meerschaum pipe to me last night along with some bl/wb tobacco. I smoked it on my front porch and watched the city go by, then came inside heavily stimulated and with a nice flavor in my mouth, and made some adagio oolong #8. I didn't want to waste any high quality tea on my smoke-impaired taste buds, and the #8 went perfect with the tobacco taste.
Sat down and slowly chugged along through my homework with some nice music.
I didn't get very far into the assignment, but it was damn enjoyable!
