I have always tried to have a couple pretty good teas and some ok teas handy at work. Sometimes you just need a good tea!!!

Started the day with a blend of some dribs and drabs, mostly asamushi remnants. Came out OK, nothing spectacular. But another tea is gone. Sweetie as usual enjoyed the tea. Wulong doesn't get it, but is good company anyway. Pyrit was present and was more interested in treats
blah blah blah SENCHA blah blah blah!!!

We used to celebrate Armistice Day in the US many years ago ... like 45 or 50 years ago, but now this day is Veterans Day, though most people still have to work. Government and schools tend to be the main organizations that take it off.

I take good tea to work because it reminds me of home and will sometimes make a rather horrible work day better.

This morning, I'm relaxing (don't have to get my daugther to school) with a cup of Adagio's Cinnamon tea, then it's off to work with some iced Assam Melody/Ceylon Sonata mix.

To any veterans and service people out there:
THANK YOU
for all you have done, and continue to do, for our country!

As for the teaDay question, I chose other, since I take coffee into work (ducks from teacups and various teaware being thrown at her). It is not gourmet coffee by anymeans, and is usually flooded with flavored creamer. I guess I have it easier, because when I get to work, I get to have the good stuff :)

Greetings from the Opryland Hotel in beautiful Nashville, TN. (I sound like the intro to Wheel of Fortune). My sister and I came down yesterday for Christmas shopping and stayed at this gorgeous hotel for the night... they are starting to deco for Christmas!

I voted Good... but occasionally, great. If I'm on a "kick", I will drink what I crave, whether at home or at work. I see no reason to drink crappy tea anywhere, anytime, if it can be avoided. I do take the teas I'm not crazy about and leave them at work... for others to drink. For me, I take what I love. Life is too short to drink dregs.

I got one of those pleasant surprises when I was rifling through my travel bag last night. There is LOTS of tea in my travel bag, in sample tins and foil bags, etc. I found a forgotten tin of Ooooh Darjeeling! Woot! I love that stuff, and I thought I'd used it all. So, that's what's in my cup this morning... going for my 3rd cup.

Sarah

May 8th is also celebrated in France (End of WWII). There has been some discussions lately in France about the fact that we have too many celebrations (many were just added a few years ago mainly concerning the end of former French colonial empire (Indochina, Algeria, End of slavery)), but Armistice day will be celebrated some more years for sure as well as May 8th (End of WWII).

I replied good. Currently at work I drink yunnan gold or noir and keemun encore.
I am drinking more and more as I cut out the coffee.

Hunh, I didn't know that about the French holidays. Thanks for teaching me something, Olivier!

Good tea, definitely, though 'good' is subjective -- I genuinely like some lower grade stuff better than more expensive, higher grade stuff. I gift teas I dislike to friends or send them to work with my mother (since I "work" at home).

Had some Yunnan Noir this morning, and am thinking that I'm not likely to have any more of it. I can't stand the peppery taste that Yunnan blacks tend to have, and it hit me hard this time. Oddly enough, it was fine the first time I tried it, still not my thing but something I thought I could finish. Good thing I only ordered a sample size.

Starting my day with this lovely Nilgiri from ToT called Neela.
For those of you who don't know it is a Black Tea similar in style to Darjeeling.

That's a very nice arrangement in a small space! Is it inside the standard kind of office desk? It would be fun to have a look at everybody's desk cabinet/drawer :P

For me, I take everything to work. Good, bad, dregs, you name it. Since I've been going through lots of samples, once I try out my sample I bring the rest to work, regardless of quality. Work is where tea canisters go to be emptied.

I work at home, so whatever tea I really like or want to try is what I am brewing.

When I travel, I take good tea (herbals included). If it's hot summer weather, greens for cooling. I always take puerh with me, but I have been lucky to find some small aged tuo chas for the purpose (can slip into a hotel teapot w/hot water easily at breakfast). I bought a small little glass teapot that has a plastic gaiwan as part of its upper area - you press a button and the brewed tea drains down into the pot. This was very useful this summer. I bought at Tea Gallery NYC (thank you Michael!), and also saw it later at a restaurant in San Fran called South Sea Seafood Village (so I got two of them)!

Michael showed me how I could use the "gaiwan" part by itself, so I took this along for an extended stay in a hotel; was absolutely great. I also have a small electric kettle by Kenwood w/dual electric settings so this would be good for transport to work or travel. I use it at home too, is good for small space.

Great photos everybody - Tim I love your mandara.
