Yunnan Gold in my cup this morning.
Hmm. Perhaps I'm an oolong...full of flavor, calm, occasionally complex, but get bitter if ignored too long or left in too much hot water...

I answered oolong, because I am mostly smooth in temper, get along well with a variety of people and situations, am better in my natural state than too dressed up, and of course, I am flavorful and delicious.
But I think the complexity and variety of oolong is why it's "me"... sometimes light and delicate, sometimes dark and brooding, and often somewhere in between, but always interesting. And for the last 2 years, I've been a touch bitter from dreadful mishandling by a careless and unskilled brewer. I'm working on that.
In my cup this morning... some Darjeeling Gopaldhara. In my oven, some Praline French Toast Casserole, a Paula Deen recipe... made for my parents this morning as a special treat. It smells divine...
Happy Tea Day,
Sarah

***This organic blend is earthy & spicy, with a fragrant aroma & smooth flavor to captivate the senses. Naturally sweetened in the Kentucky sunshine & infused with natural energy. Equally delicious when served piping hot or crisply chilled.***

I would say oolong, and a heavily roasted Wuyi at that, in that we both have very fruity and exciting personalities...wait, that didn't come out correctly. Although I'm completely straight, people still think I have a fruity personality. Like Wuyi, I also have a certain spiciness in my personality.

Anyway, I would be black...bold, robust and strong, stand-up to anyone or anything! Except that nasty flu bug that kept me down most of the week, glad I'm back, didn't even turn on the computer for a few days!
Have a FAB TeaDay today

I chose white...I've really worked to change my outside the home personna over the last 18 months...I used to be an in your face assam kind of guy...over brewed and astringent.
Now I work at being kind/forgiving (like a white tea that doesn't get poured on time) and still provide much benefit to those I'm associated with.
Sounds great, doesn't it?
I do really like the white tea I get from my local shop though I tend to drink more darjeeling at the desk.
All this to say, Chip this is a tough poll!!
Irish Breakfast in the mug earlier today to get things started.

Hello all! I have been out this past week - stomach flu this time. So not fun. Missed the whole week of work and wasn't able to keep down even tea so yeah, it's been a crappy week. But I'm alive again so yay! I'm going to clean out and refill my Zojirushi in celebration.
I voted green - specifically a Japanese green - lovely, fresh and sweet, but if you don't treat me right I can be fairly unpleasant.
Sal, love today's photo. It is very wow!

It is a Tai Ping Hou Kui tea from Anhui Province. The best TPHK are easily as good as ( though different from) the best Dragon Well. The long, flattened leaves are visually striking.kongni wrote: Sal, that cup of tea you photographed looks like a "magical" brew. What kind of tea is it? Dragonwell?
The light in the photo is a bit on the blue green side for effect. The leaves are actually a more yellow green when wet, but very beautiful.
Thanks, Auggy. Glad you are feeling better. Shelob, how is the recuperation from the fall progressing?

Heh, the philosophical question of the day is a little tough. Like I said, have fun with it or be ultra serious, however you want to approach it.
I tested a new for gyokuro, Gyoku Hou from Uji/O-Cha. Did a tiny tasting of 2 ounces so I can work on the parameters for a tasting with a bunch af friends.
While out, a sencha teabag.
NEXT!

I am a Japanese green.....perhaps a high grade sencha.....very grassy, always under a full sun, since I like to be outside.....its consistency is clear...I am clear headed......and for one, tea is a huge part of my life and Jap. greens are some of my favorites!
*Drinking Rishi dragonwell, but looking forward to some new japanese greens that Toru-san is sending me from artisticnippon.com with a new kyusu and yunomi I ordered!
