I will probably turn on the TV in time for the national news tonight, but other than the news, I just don't watch television any more.

My Sunday routine is usually to spend the early part of the day at my mom's, and often I watch the Food Network and usually "In the Kitchen with Bob" on QVC which I consider more of a cooking show than a shopping opportunity.
Tonight, I'll watch 60 Minutes, as Pres. Elect and Michelle Obama will be interviewed. I followed the election pretty closely over the last 2 years, and don't like to miss the opportunity to hear these 2 being interviewed, as I find them both quite fascinating.
In my cup this morning... 2 things so far.... the Tung Ting oolong I refresh-roasted yesterday, that just won't die... on maybe the 8th infusion now.... and earlier this morning I had my first White Assam from Teasource, thanks to a generous sample from a Teachat friend. If you can imagine a delicate assam, you will imagine this tea. I got some profound spicy notes in it, which reminded me of chai... but I can't tell if it is more of a clove element or cardamon... not cinnamon, but definitely a spicy tone. I enjoyed 2 infusions and will go back for more later.
As for the never-ending Tung Ting, it was from Teavana and actually quite good, but I forgot I had it, and so it was down to roughly one session quantity in the bottomm of a paper bag... not much aroma, so I pan-roasted it for a couple of minutes over medium heat until I could smell the right aroma. Apparently I misjudged my eyeball estimate of how much leaf was there. I'm at my mom's and using the small Ingenuitea, and it is more than 3/4 full of leaf now that I've brewed several times. Judging by this last one, there are 3 or 4 more still to be gotten.
Happy Tea Sunday to all,
Sarah

I watch approximately five hours of tv a week and that consists of The Daily Show M-Th and the first 8 minutes of The Colbert Report. Occasionally, I catch a bit of local news but mostly I get my news from the newspaper and the internet.

Whenever I turn on the television I always goto the Food Network...which is bad when I'm hungry >.<
Got my samples from Teacuppa...a menagerie of Dancong and Wuyi. When I got my package one of the tea samples was opened by customs and I panicked a little. After weighing it it seems that Customs didn't lose anything...if they had did I would've been furious!

Other: Today I will probably watch Masterpiece Theater's The Last of the Mohicans –a really old series– and/or Death Note on Hulu. Already finished the new Beowulf today –it was ok. However, if I watched the first half as if it were serious not as a comedy, I probably would not have liked it as much. The Grendel part reminded me of the Evil Dead, but with bad CGI instead of bad Claymation.

I chose pbs, but I mostly use the TV to watch DVD. When I watch real TV program, mostly pbs documentaries. I had never got a TV cable until 2 years ago, for watching the world cup. And then after I moved to this new region, oddly here, if you get TV cable and internet cable, the total price is cheaper than getting internet cable only. So I got the basic $6 TV cable to reduce my internet bill. And No, by doing this deal, they didn't seduce me into upgrading my TV cable to more expensive one
I do love a few TV series, but have great difficulty remembering to watch a specific program on a specific day of the week. So even for my favorite TV series (boston legal), I missed most episodes.

Me too the daily show. I am terrible following news (and for this I blame our local TV stations for lacking of interesting news reports). Then I ended up getting most national news from the daily show and sometimes have to double check and find out if something is true or kiddingBeanbean wrote:I watch approximately five hours of tv a week and that consists of The Daily Show M-Th and the first 8 minutes of The Colbert Report.

I tend to keep my TV on for background noise while studying or reading (so, most of the time), because I find it difficult to tune out music or work/read in silence. Admittedly, I do watch quite a lot of television, but not as much as it looks like! Mostly it's movies, sci-fi, comedies/dramas and Law & Order type shows. Of course, we did just get a PS3, so I'm sure my entertainment time will become far more interactive.
It's 2pm and I'm sleepy, augh, need more tea.

Sunday is Iron Chef America night so the television will get turned on for my once a week Food Network fix. Today is the Thanksgiving special where is it two of the Iron Chefs versus the other two Iron Chefs, so it should be interesting. I have been looking forward to watching it since it was previewed as a commercial.
Currently, I am drinking sencha.

Don't watch much TV so it's unlikely I'll have it on at all today.
A few cups of sencha Yutaka-Midori this morning. Down to the "stems and seeds" in that package sadly. However, I have the sight of new packages of sencha Hatsumi and Chiran Supreme from O-Cha to cheer me up. I can tell already that tonight will be enhanced by AliShan (from Adagio) as I am in the grips of a serious craving for oolong. Anxiously awaiting my new yixing pot and gaiwan from Yunnan Sourcing so I can move oolong brewing out of the glass tea pot.

I will likely watch some random TV today, or else catch up on a couple of shows online... It's a beautiful day today, but I'm just hanging out inside, we got crunched by a teenage driver yesterday. The caris a mess, but the safety features worked fine, so we are just a little sore and bruised.

But I don't really feel like dragging camera gear around even though the weather is perfect.
In my cup (a non-"English" entry since I don't have the saucer,) jasmine pearl with just a touch of honey.

In my experience, the TeaCuppa packages tend to come up light on the weight even if customs does not open them!Maitre_Tea wrote: After weighing it it seems that Customs didn't lose anything...if they had did I would've been furious!
Thanks, Trioxin, Augie, and Kymidwife for the nice comments on the photo and the cute pot -- it holds a mere 4.25 oz, 120 ml. I may use it for gyokuro.
