I usually get - "what's wrong with tea from the store?"
No way do I tell them how much it costs, how much I have
or show ALL the teaware.

ToT Bohea this morning -

Have a nice day everyone, especially our

BIRTHDAY GIRL - daughteroftheKing!

I voted 4, but as Drax said, it would be a 5 if people knew how much I really spend on tea and wares.

In my 1st cup this morning was Woodie's Me So Horny Blues signature blend... no hidden meaning in my choice, I just wanted something sweet. Now I've totally switched gears and I'm drinking a new Teavana tea called Kuki-Matcha, which is of course, Kukicha mixed with matcha. I must say, I think it is absolutely delicious. The kukicha is not roasted like the kukicha I had from Adagio. The brew is very creamy, tastes more like matcha than the kukicha I've tried... great aroma, nice vegetal aftertaste, sweet and rich on the tongue... I really like this. I need to investigate other vendors that do the kukicha/matcha blend. I'm really liking it.

I placed myself in the middle.

My wife "understands". It's cheaper than some of my past interests! :D

My co-workers are interested and several have started buying teas from the shop I use and/or stop by Teavana over in the mall in Tampa...but then I work for a Hospice software company -- as the weater has cooled more folks are drinking the Bigelow teas offered by the company's coffee service...I get asked about my infuser and the loose tea but it's all positive.

Happy Birthday daughter of the King!

Overall, this rating is dropping for me. Not because my tea drinking habits have changed, but everyone elses attitude has it seems, well, mostly everyones. I would still say 4 overall or on average, down from a 4-5.

Started the day by finishing off the Organic Sencha from Kagoshima blended with some Sencha Premier to make a full session. Sweetie approved. Wulong didn't care.

Moved on to a reallllllly nice cup of Adagio Fujian Baroque. I used more leaf than normal English style (my normal prep for most blacks) and WOW. Cinnamon first, then cocoa. Incredible how a little leaf made a really good tea sooo much better. This one would be awesome prepared gong fu style!

Yeah my friends think i'm crazy. Thankfully they don't know what I spend on teaware, just that my apt has tea everywhere in it.

This morning: Koyamaen Takaragi Sencha. Really good stuff.

It would be a 5 if I shared my budget (particularly the one for tea-ceremony wares) with others. Sensibly, I don't do that, so instead I am a 4 :)

Mind you, I'm not spending as much as I was. The recession is turning me into a big old thrift hound.

In my work cup this morning - Castleton Estate - FF
from Silver Leaf Tea - Another non-impressive offering.
Especially after having some great sessions this morning
at home. So good I actually filled my travel mug for the
drive in.

Watch for all my Silver Leaf Teas coming to a swap forum near
you!!

I voted 2. I think I just confuse those about my tea-love. Of course I intentionally don't share the amount I spend on tea and tea related accessories nor do I try too hard to evangelize the wonders of tea to them. So people only probably think I'm a 2 because they just don't know the full extent. Though immediate family does, but they are more intrigued than anything else. Besides, they've always known I was different.

Thank you Victoria & Chip. Even though I have to work today and tonight (Friday is supposed to be my day off), it's shaping up to be a good b'day. Co-workers took me to lunch Tuesday, and other group to lunch today, a couple of gifts, a few cards. The rest of the day I'll be working in another building and away from a computer, so may not be able to stop back by here until tomorrow.

This morning's cup: finally cracked open a new tin of Adagio's Chestnut. With a little stevia and a splash of cream, my tongue's as happy as if it were hot chocolate :D .
On ice today: yesterday's Golden Spring.

Happy birthday, dotK!

On average, my friends and family would probably peg me as a 4. We don't talk about cost, and I don't try to get them into drinking tea. I offer tea to the ones who are even slightly interested, but that's about as far as it goes.

Keemun Rhapsody this morning, and now some Organic Qi-Zhong. I like the charcoal taste. Hm, and I eat lots of slightly burnt food on purpose. Is it can be charcoal tiem naow?

Ahem. Nothing to see here.

I blame the cats.

Happy Birthday Daughter of the King!

I would have voted 4, but most visitors here just see the number of cats and that puts them into such a state of horror, I could be dancing around the living room with a teapot in one hand and cup in the other and they'd never notice.

Ya think I'm joking, dontcha? When is the last time you've been in the same house with 30 cats and 4 really large dogs, all of whom think you are either a tree or want you to make a lap, and that includes the 125 pound pit mix snuggle dog. No kill sanctuary, not JUST a crazy old broad.

There are a great number of really good Assams this year. Right now we (Oolong, Rufus 2.0, Dot Com and Frank the Bunny who like tea) are drinking a second pot of Nahorhabi Estate FTGFOP1.

It is good, very full body, excellent typical Assam with spicy notes, holds up well to cream, a cube of demara sugar and cat hair. It has enough authority to pierce the blank blank drug fog from the cocktail of meds my doctor has me on since I keep falling and managed to do a little damage.

At least I have not broken any teaware, though I did manage to pour boiling hot tea all over my left.........er.......external mammary appendage thing trying to keep the newly filled pot from breaking during one of the falls. The husband person said he could have bought me another blank blank blank teapot, but how in the world could I replace the perfect teapot that is the absolute perfect shape, weight, clay, everything for my English style teas? I can make tea in that in my sleep (and have) and it is never too much or too little. Buy a new one, bah!

The cats and my body say it is nap time so I'm off to snooze during Tora Tora Tora - love that movie.
Jeanne - I never met a tea pot I didn't like.
