What, no Twinings? I could live with Red Rose or Bigleow.

Re the coconut. Coconut milk in black tea is rather good. Toss in a spoonful of rum and it is reeeeeeeeally good.

For that matter, toss a spoonful of rum into Liptons and it is a lot better.

In my cuppa, mystery tea marked "Puerh". Loose leaf form, some tips, dark, mildly earthy.

For the love of the gods of tea, if anyone lives in North Georgia or Atlanta and you know of a Korean/Mexican grocery store in a depressed area away from Atlanta but still urban, if you shop there will you PLEASE find out what they sold my friend as "Puerh." I'm almost out! Don't make me go back to co%%ee in the morning!

*banging my head on the monitor*
Jeanne - I never met a tea pot I didn't like.

Red Rose for me. I was pretty happy with Red Rose, then made the mistake of trying Tazo. In a way, that was good, because I disliked the Tazo so much it led me to trying loose tea. I still use Red Rose as a go-to for iced tea. Plus, I love the little ceramic figurines. Would those be in the crate also? :)

I would go on EW's recommendation of RED ROSE. I hardly remember what Lipton's tastes like anymore.

Ippodo, O-cha and hibiki-an sell decent teabags so I would chose them I guess.

You will have to close your eyes and pretend you are drinking such nice tea since they are not in the crate. 8)

Let us know how the Kuradashi is.

Boy Chip, you're not giving us too many choices... on purpose, I am sure

I would choose Celestial... hopefully it would be mint, that I could handle on the island.

Have a Fab TeaDay! In my cup this morn, darjeeling.

In my cup this morning Adagio Keemun Rhapsody.

I'm off to the post office to mail some promised samples and
then about a thousand other errands, I made a second steep
for my 16oz thermos and I'm ready to tackle them all!

Have a nice day everyone!

The grocery story bagged brands I would normally choose aren't options. Chip, you are being mean! I went with Bigelow. I think I've had a tea from them that was decent for bagged. Maybe.

No tea yet today. :( I'm descaling my Zojirushi and am too lazy to boil water in the kettle.

---------------------------------
In my cup
  • Awazon "Jingmai" Raw Puerh Tea Brick
    Production Area: Xishuangbanna,Yunnan,China
    Vintage: April 2008
I bought this because I have a Puerhshop Jingmai that I like quite a bit.

The current suspect is a $6.99, 250-gram brick that is the most tightly compressed puerh I have run across. My Vice Grip came in extra handy. Image Really, no joke.

The leaves do NOT look like the ones pictured on the vendor's ebay site. The outside is mostly quite broken leaf pieces and the inside includes a lot of what I call "dirt" ... because it looks like ... well, dirt. I suppose this is actually some level of fannings or dust, the stuff in most teabags.

I broke off a 4-gr solid chunk and 1 gr of looser material. 1st infusion extremely pale and (surprisingly) clear yellow. The first infusion was pretty nice! It showed some texture in the mouth, and tasted woody, smoke, pleasantly acid. Lovely aftertaste as it cooled in the cup. Not astringent, a tad oily on the lips, something I like.

Unfortunately, the nice first infusion was the best and the ghost faded away in each subsequent steep. Maybe if I brewed it stronger.

Another brick to add to the pile of disappointing puerh I bought on a whim. When will I learn?

Wished there was Twinings in the options to choose from but I chose Bigelow.

I haven't had any tea yet but plan to have some yummy matcha :)

I would have voted for Twinings also, if it were a choice.

This morning I had some Adagio Irish Breakfast and needed to re-order more. When I went to the Adagio website, I saw that they are offering 15% off on all orders this weekend.

I ended up ordering an iced IngenuiTEA with pitcher along with a flavored sampler, some Irish Breakfast, and some oolong, green and white samples for my daughter's birthday ... then forgot to order my IB! I got free shipping since I worked my way up to $50 so the 15% off was definitely worthwhile.

I got that notice too, but it may only be for repeat customers - or there may be another criteria. I don't see it offered when not signed in.

Now that you brought it up, I was going to mention how much I really liked the personalization of the offer, but wasn't sure who all may have received it.

I think I will be restocking a few favorites and maybe even a couple of teaware items I've had my eye on.

Geeber, now's a good time for that Merry Christmas kettle for yourself!!
Ha!

I know ... I've been thinking about it! I can just see my husband doing this  if I have another box of tea stuff show up at the door!

The 15% off offer was on the Adagio home page. I never got an email from them, unless it's in my spam. :(

No, no email - but it pops up because you are signed in. If you sign out, you will no longer see the offer, which makes me think it is only for repeat customers. Not a problem here, I'm sure most of us are repeat customers. But if someone who has never ordered from Adagio is reading this, the offer may not be available to them, was my only concern. But I could totally be wrong!!!

Tell hubby to ignore and not open any boxes coming from now until Christmas or it may ruin his Christmas surprise!!

hehehe
