 So, did every get their package?

I am enjoying the Fijitsubo right now. 2 ounce sessions make this stuff go a lot further. I would like to do a side by side comparison of all 3. This one might be my fave of the 3 and of course, I have the least of.

FYI, since Brandon brought it up. Cost per gram...

Fijitsubo 45 cents
Gyoku Hou 45 cents
Kuradashi Super Premium 65 cents

 Yeah, the kuradashi is not farmer tea.

I have noticed the Gyoku Hou seems the most tempermental of the 3 to brew. I am curious if anyone else noticed this. It might have the fullest mouth feel as well.
blah blah blah SENCHA blah blah blah!!!

I have tried the F and and find it salty, lighter and less chicken tasting than the Kame-Giru-Shi (my benchmark) … more aromatic and grassy, but still thick and umami loaded.Image

Olivierco and Brandon, love your shiboridashi and hohin. Although I have it from reliable sources that gyokuro can be quaffed from Bart Simpsonware, I prefer to go the high road and use nice Japanese stuff.

Brandon, I am a Fuka lover, but the Farmer's Shincha was also my favorite out of maybe 8 or 9 new senchas that I wound up trying before shincha was over.

No, but it typically takes 2 weeks to get a shipment from the United States, unless it is sent International Priority (= prohibitively expensive, so I never use it). I have learned to cultivate patience...

Anyway, I'm sure it'll show up before too long. If you mailed the gyokuro out on Dec. 1, then we're probably looking at Dec. 15 or thereabouts. Possibly a little longer due to Christmas mail volume.

Tried out the Kuradashi last night, quite wonderful stuff. The flavor was incredibly consistent, normally switching between marine and grassy, but this was rather purely marine in flavor. Even with increasing temp no indication of any bitterness or astringency. Smooth flavor all around.

Have you already opened your pinnacle grade kuradashi package?

Good luck with that!

I hope everyone enjoys this comparison tasting as much as I am.

Not yet, that's on schedule for later in the week. Unfortunately even one gyokuro is a bit much caffeine for me late at night.

I did get the package, thank you very much!

I haven't had a chance to try yet, hopefully this coming weekend.

Thanks again!

I have just had the Gyoku-Hou and got five steeps of it.
8gr in a 120ml hohin which gives about 70ml of tea per steep.
It was better than I remembered (not that I didn't like it but at the time I bought it, I only brewed gyokuro at 1gr/30ml), especially the first steep. I still prefer Kame-Giru-Shi with a more complex taste.

The Fujitsubo was perhaps too light to my taste, but still a nice gyokuro.

I guess I will have to order a bag of Fujitsubo and one of Gyoku-Hou later this year.
