Nope, definitely not - maybe a hint to NOT buy tea stuff would be the best hint of all.

In my cup this morning - Glenburn Estate Vintage Wiry
This is probably my favorite Darjeeling

Have a nice day everyone!

The only person I really give hints to what I want is my sister because she tends to just give me make-up, which I don't usually wear. Other people, like friends and the rest of the fam already know I like loose leaf teas/teawares.

This morning, I made milk tea out of Dammann Frères Christmas blend. It tastes spicy/fruity, like most holiday blends out there but I think it's really good.
Tea tea tea... I like tea...

Forget dropping hints, I've flat out told people what they can get me (though I've stuck to the wares side on the tea-hints). But being direct is always my chosen method when it comes to gift giving - apparently I am hard to shop for and it stresses folks out to buy me something. Plus, DH is especially responsive to the direct method. No hinting around and hope he remembers and being sad or disappointed when he doesn't. I send him links or give him a catalog with something circled and say "you can get me this". Also, then when people ask him what I want, he's got a list to share.

Thai tea this morning. Yum. I wish I had more. I'm cold and want more tea to warm me up. My Forecastfox says it is 28. Brr! I am not built for cold!

First of all welcome Asoka!

No hints from me, although this thread has reminded me that I need to get around to ordering some matcha and wares to have on Christmas day!

A new scale I ordered yesterday arrived in the post this morning, very pleased about that! One of these... http://www.amazon.co.uk/KENEX-Professio ... 421&sr=1-2 - but for a better price!

Currently enjoying some Hibiki-an Sencha Superior.

Jack :D

I would hint if it worked. However, most of the tea items I'd like to have are not available locally; and my nearest-and-dearest are, to a man, reluctant to order via the Internet, and forgetful about the need to order special items in advance. So my wishlists on Adagio, Amazon and so forth are purely for my own reference.

In my cup - nothing yet - I'd better get moving!

Sigh. I'm envying you. I know just the one I'd like to drink right now on this cold New York morning.

Re gift hints:
My husband knows what I like and leaves me to pick for myself, which is wise. But I'm now going to consider a hint :-)

If I dropped hints to anybody else in my family I'd probably just get a lecture on what a spendthrift I am... more like incredulous at what I'm willing to pay for tea...

Sal, gorgeous photo as always.

By "dropping hints" I mean telling my friends and family up front that I would like some tea and tea related items for Christmas, but nothing in tea bags, please. My friends and I are usually pretty blunt with each other when it comes to asking for what we want for Christmas, because we feel that we each get what we want. I'm gunning for some much needed tea tins, tea leaves, and tea pots...

I drop lots of hints, or else I get weird stuff that I would never use. I showed my father the link to the rice porcelain gaiwans on amazon and explained to him that they were the same pattern as the awesome cups that were found in the basement and that it would be great to have more of the set. My fiance and I also gave up on trying to surprise each other and would rather get gifts that the other person would use and enjoy. He asked me to go on his computer and bookmark what I wanted so I gave him links to the Glendale Nilgiris and a two cup teapot, all from TeaSource.

This morning, I am enjoying a mug of Adagio's chestnut tea. It is surprisingly good!

I welcomed a new baby at around 3am today, so I am getting a slow start up and moving. <yawn>

I dont need any tea leaf, so I didnt hint for that at all. I did mention the Zoji to my sister a couple of times, and showed her one at the Asian market. That was my only big hint, we'll see if it paid off.

In my cup is Adagio #8 which was fabulous last night but alittle weak this morning on its 3rd or 4th infusion... so I am ready to dump those leaves and start fresh with something else.... Next :!:

***This organic blend is earthy & spicy, with a fragrant aroma & smooth flavor to captivate the senses. Naturally sweetened in the Kentucky sunshine & infused with natural energy. Equally delicious when served piping hot or crisply chilled.***

I hinted for teacups. I couldn't imagine that going terribly wrong.

Tea, on the other hand, is something people don't know how to buy.

If I have to hold their hand and say "buy from this site right here, with these restrictions", I might as well ask for cash and buy it myself.

I got mine early :D This came this morning from Artistic Nippon. I could not believe how fast it was. I ordered this (from Japan) on MONDAY, and it is Thursday morning! Toru is absolutely amazing.

Now if I could just get over the fear of using it! Its such a work of art I don't want to break it lol.

Yeah it's a bit cool here this morning as well. I think like 48.

This morning Koyama-en Takaragi again. Running low on this stuff, but it's fantastic.

I don't drop any hints at all. Most of the time I receive books for Xmas.

Keemun Rhapsody (Adagio) in a few minutes.

My hints were very specific:
1 pound of 2007 Mu-Zha TGY
1/2 pound of 1994 Mu-Zha TGY
2 Ounces of 1990's Harbor Tea
A cup set from Xu De-Jia

My grandmother ordered it, it on the way!
