I'm waiting for my starter kit to come in the mail today, and after that I will let you know what's "in my cup."

I voted Maybe. I already sent an IngenuiTEA and several sample tins of tea to my daughter for her birthday. She's the only person I know who might be interested in anything tea-related.
This morning I'm enjoying some Nilgiri Glendale OP from TeaSource. My husband is taking me in to the walk-in clinic because I have something going on with my hip or leg. Getting old is no fun!

I've got *many* inexpensive little tin cans from specialty bottles, and would give casual gifts of small cans of teas to a lot of friends.
But I haven't given many serious tea gifts yet. If someone is not that into tea yet, giving a big gift will possibly be a waste. And if someone is very much into tea, it's really hard to get a gift that matches her taste
Darjeeling early morning, and having dong ding oolong now

Interesting! The leaves almost look like zhu ye qing (bamboo leaf green tea) but the name doesn't relate at all. Like Trey said, it maybe a yellow tea and it does somewhat look like Jun Shan silver needle. But again the name doesn't relate. I heard now Jun Shan also use green tea processing method to make Jun Shan silver needle, which originally is a yellow tea. But I've never had it.
I also found in my tea book another tea named Gui Lin silver needle that somewhat matches the shape of dry and spent leaves. But it's not a famous tea and I can't imagine it's sold in US.
So I guess, some green tea kind of silver needle

My dad is a big puer and wi yi oolong fan so yes I'll definitely get him a new supply of tea.
Gyokuro this morning.
Later today I'm heading out to the Japanese grocery store which is almost an hour and a half from my house

. Last time I was there they had 50 gram bags of organic sencha and fukamushi that was to DIE for!

Yep, and some fresh baked tea cookies too. Maybe some will also receive some tea accessories. It's a bad thing to drink alone.

I'll probably give some small amounts of loose tea to a few select friends/fam.

I am definitely giving two tea gifts... one for my best friend (a special signature blend I created for her, my Tequila Sunrise blend, very yummy)... and I got my nephew's girlfriend an Ingenuitea and some sampler tins. She always asks me to make tea for her when they come over... so I know she will enjoy it.
In my first cup this morning was gyokuro, about 4 or 5 infusions... and now some Black Dragon Pearls from Teavana... tastes like yunnan gold. I need caffeine, didn't sleep well, can't see my dentist today about the chipped tooth, and still don't know what I want to do about the kitten situation.
Need to get motivated to get some things done... hoping the tea will kick in.
Sarah

Maybe for me. SIL comes next week and wants to try teas, so if she likes it, I might get her a starter set. My mom's gotten into teas some (well, herbals) so I might get her some of that. Not really sure. 20 days left. I gotta buy gifts!
Pineapple tea this morning. I should be getting some tea I ordered today. Yay. And I'm off work all next week. I can't wait for this day to be over! Vacation, baby! Like I didn't just have a 5 day weekend, but whatever!

Excellent, thank you Vulture! Am I right in thinking that after uploading images to the host site, to get them to show here is to do image, then url, then close with image? Le Sigh. I used to do this stuff in my sleep till all the neurological nonsense happened, now I'm doing well to build or repair our computers.
Here's what my tea swilling Godsons, Goddaughter are getting.
Here's what I'm trying to find for our daughter in love.
And here's what I want! I really want the whole set, but will settle for just the cup and saucer.
