Thanks that helps. I am not that into tea to use those. I have a horrible nose so I taste my tea more than smell it.Victoria wrote:Aroma and tasting cups usually come together in a set. The tall cup is the aroma cup.

Oni I know this, but I have a double problem with this. I am a supertaster to compensate for my lack of smell. I usually taste teas only unless they have a strong smell. That might be why I love cinnamon and other spiced teas. This also keeps me from bitter and vegital teas as these are also strong flavors...Oni wrote:The tongue can only taste basic tastes the aroma is percieved by the nose, so the nose senses the aroma from your mouth as you drink it.

That will change as you pay more attention to the nuances and your palate becomes more refined, as well as when your brewing skills improveVulture wrote:Oni I know this, but I have a double problem with this. Yah sometimes I keep forgetting I am a teanub. I have a lot to try out stillABx wrote:I think everyone starts out that way; then some stay more with taste, some start to appreciate aroma more, some appreciate hui gan more, some appreciate qi more, and some look for some or all of the above. Taking notes or starting a blog to challenge yourself to notice all these things can hasten the process, and aroma cups may even concentrate the aroma enough that you can smell it more easily.

I'll be looking for a set when we go to LA.
Maybe in Koreatown? I am assuming Hankook is in Koreatown.

I don't think a Korean place would have them. There are a bazillion Tian Ren (Ten Ren) / Tian Fu locations in the greater LA area, which is probably going to be your best bet. Can't remember if Wing Hop Fung (locations in Chinatown and Monterey Park) also has them or not.Victoria wrote:I'll be looking for a set when we go to LA.
