They are a pit large, but otherwise good O.K. Medium thickness. Sometimes the lid flips, because there is no flat part in the Gawain. I would look elsewhere.phantom9309 wrote:What do you think of them?edkrueger wrote:I have 2 or the large Gaiwans from them, but I bought those through my tea shop.
Andao Tea - and customer service
Moderator Edit by Chip: This one is allowed since it is direct response to issues brought up in this topic. Thank you for your reply, Rob.
Hi everyone. I'm Rob and I am the co-founder of Andao Tea.
First, I want to apologize for any inconvenience anyone may have had with our products or service.
At Andao, we take great pride in finding the best teas in China and bringing them to America. Our focus is providing high quality organic products and making sure they are affordable to our customers. It's important to us. We're tea lovers too.
Second, in reference to the incident with the used tea tray. This is totally on us. There was a mix up in our warehouse and the wrong item was shipped. As soon as we found out about it, however, we righted this and sent the customer not only a brand new tray but a gift basket of teas for her inconvenience. In addition, I spoke with her on the phone and apologized for the mix up. She had not alerted us directly when this occurred. But as soon as we saw the blog, we contacted her immediately and righted the situation.
We hope to not make mistakes like this again in the future, but we're all human. Things do happen - but please know this was not intentional.
If anything should ever occur in which you aren't happy with the service or the product, please call Andao immediately at 631.731.1634, email us at sales@andaotea.com or even follow us on Twitter @andaotea - we're not selling you just tea or teaware, but the culture of Chinese tea drinking that was started thousands of years ago.
We want nothing more than for our customers to experience tea drinking as does traditional China.
Thanks and I hope you all continue to enjoy Andao Tea.

I have the large gaiwan and some of the cups from Andao and both work great for me. I also drink their white peony, misty green, and golden monkey and enjoy all of them. I haven't tried any of their other teas yet. Haven't bought a tea tray though.

Actually, those Gaiwans were from Houston. To answer your question I prefer the Steeping Room in to Domain, but it is noisy –also best tea ware and tea in Austin. If you want to go for a drive Formosa Art in Pflugerville is nice.Sam. wrote:What tea shop do you use in Austin?edkrueger wrote:I have 2 or the large Gaiwans from them, but I bought those through my tea shop.
Where in Houston? I haven't been to the Steeping Room yet but I've seen it online. Isn't it a restaurant also? I know there's a place called Tea Embassy down on 9th also.edkrueger wrote:Actually, those Gaiwans were from Houston.
