I enjoy Adagio's Gingerbread Tea so much, I decided to see if I could turn it into a worthy cocktail, and had great success with it. Basically, it's vanilla vodka, Godiva white chocolate liqueur, and the gingerbread tea, for a Gingerbread Martini.
I guess this makes me one of the 12% here who isn't going ewwwwwwwwwwwwww or bleh!
The wake-up cup was Yunnan Gold and I'm having a cup of Adagio's Blood Orange as I settle in to work.

In my morning cup Nepal FF Darjeeling courtesy of Vulture.
I have been wanting to try this one for so long!! It
sold out quickly on the west coast.
A nice smooth Darjeeling, fruity with that FF bite.

Nah, I wouldn't do it. It will be like watering down your liquor, which doesn't taste right.
They have this thing called Zen Green Tea Liqueur
http://www.thenibble.com/REVIEWS/MAIN/c ... iqueur.asp It's basically a Green Tea Martini. Would not try it. But if you want the benefits of green tea while liquoring it up, by all means go for it. Just make sure it's served in a martini glass.
This morning, I'm having Jasmine #12 from Adagio - I love this tea. Too bad I don't have a martini glass to drink with this tea

I did hear that there was a Yunnan traditional way of mixing heavy black tea and some local alcohol (not sure what kind) and drink it hot. It's called "war of dragon and tiger"

It sounds exciting to me! But biologically speaking, it's not healthy to drink large amount of alcohol and caffeine at the same time. Smaller amount, I guess, it's ok
I also heard (for multiple times) there is way of enjoying dong ding oolong by adding 1 drop of brandy in the teacup. I don't know who invented it. Since brandy is not from China, I guess the brewing method wasn't invented long time ago.

I play with a little bit of this but my favorite one so far:
Harney's Cinnamon Tea (Chilled not hot) with Goldshlogers
Even though its a cold drink, it will warm you better than most teas

Actually, I have some nice martini glasses with short, blocky stems that make for wonderful glass tea "cups." I've been meaning to photograph them for the teaware thread, but haven't had the time.
As to the Green Tea Liqueur, the current feature in TeaMuse here features it, along with a couple similar alcoholic tea drinks.

Nuh-uh. No way. I like tea, and I like booze, but not tea-and-booze.
Also, Long Island Ice Tea does not contain tea. It just looks like tea. heh.

Ha ha! No comment on the cabernet, but I will weigh in on tea and alcohol. For a bunch of people who said that they weren't purists in the traditional vs contemporary thread, there are a lot more people than I would expect who are against this on principle Being a big fan of tea, when I was a bartender I made quite a few drinks with tea. They can come out really good sometimes. However, some of them end up really bad as well. Just like cooking with tea, you just have to pair the right ingredients together.
There was actually a big "Teatini" party in Nashville a few weeks ago. I couldn't go, but I heard it was great.
And as much as I hate to say it, I'm also working on some tea-based drinks for a local cafe. My roommate made a blackberry-peach-basil syrup that is really yummy. I want to pair it with some jasmine pearl infused cream to make a latte. No idea what I would call that though.

Todays cups:
Assam from Sensational Teas for breakfast (I needed a kick start for the day). The last few hours have been spent brewing several different greens to determine whether I like Chinese or Japanese better. Results: Inconclusive so far. I think I just need to reconcile that they are very different cups and I should just compare the Chinese greens to other Chinese greens and the same with the Japanese. At least my "hard work" has been delicious!

My favorite so far is the Zen Green tea liquor, mixed with some flavored apricot green tea, and club soda. I usually make this iced though- i'm not a fan of hot liquor drinks.
