Another big month for Indian teas here. I drank lots of Darjeeling and Nilgiri in December, although I spread the love around to China, Japan, and Taiwan as well.

My W is sticking on my keyboard.

In my cup this morning is Darjeeling Vidyarana... time for one more cup and then it's off to the hospital to catch a baby, perhaps a future tea lover. :D

Happy Tea Day all,

Sarah
***This organic blend is earthy & spicy, with a fragrant aroma & smooth flavor to captivate the senses. Naturally sweetened in the Kentucky sunshine & infused with natural energy. Equally delicious when served piping hot or crisply chilled.***

Tough call on December. I had several pretty good sencha, but the prize goes to a new one I tried from Japanese Green Tea Shop. Organic Yabe Supreme, I would say the best organic I have tried to date.

Started the TeaDay with Fukamushi Supreme from O-Cha. Sweetie joined in along with bystanders Wulong, TEAh, and Precious.

Currently Adagio Nepal FF, really nice black.

Decembers surprise hit was Long Jing from TeaSpring. I got it half way through the month and have gone through 50 grams already.

This morning however it's my old friend sencha Zuiko.

And Now For Something Completely Different

I received the coolest thing in the mail today along with a tea order. Have any of you seen this?

The spice is finding me after a few sips, possibly the reason why drink is extremely warming. I may have used a bit more water than directed, which might explain why I can't manage a froth. The cacao nibs don't seem to really dissolve at all, but I have eaten raw nibs in the past and they are pretty tasty to me.

Thanks for the nice comments, guys. Ron, if I were up there I suppose I would have to be photographing tea cups on a bed of snow! Or next to a roaring fire instead of surrounded by lantana and coontie leaves. My Alexandrina Saucer Magnolia seems to think it’s spring.

Nice work, Brandon. Keep ‘em comin’. Glad to see that work is allowing you enough time lately to indulge our senses. Those Chinese characters are looking pretty cool!

My first and I think still my favorite.

Purchased locally or on the internet? Especially impressive that a Chinese green is so good this late in the year.

News to me! Looks quite cool though. The thought of unsweet, spicy chocolate is very attractive.

Thanks for the kind words. I still know less than 20 Chinese characters, and the first 10 are numbers! Lots of work to do on this front. I could quit working today and entertain myself for a long time.

Work starts up again on Monday, unfortunately. It's been a nice two weeks - it is too bad I am just now cracking the cover on The Art of Tea magazine (I just read The Leaf vol 4 in its entirety yesterday). Plenty of new samples here as well.

I had a wide range of killer teas here lately, but the grand slam winner for the last month or so has been Megami Sencha.

It's what's in my cup presently, in fact. But I can't manage to take a pic that does it justice.

Lots of puer for me in December, as I try and find my way into it - slowly! My favourite was probably the 12 Gentlemen 2006 YiWu.

For a change today, I had some fantastic Ummon-no-mukashi matcha from Ippodo.

Just finished off a bowl of Maccha "Kyo Mukashi" and now moving on to Tai Ping Hou Kui. A fine day for tea down here in Florida.

I would go through the actual company site.
Japanese Green Tea Shop

While you are at it, he has great Japanese canister bargains. This one is 5 USD or a set of 4 for 15. I have seen this one sold individually for around 15 USD.

Hmmm, just finished Sencha Zuiko from Den's, I need to work on the parameters of this asamushicha a bit.
