The top three hit home with me. Probably the worst is reordering, only to find out it is not as good.

Not a problem with this morning's brew. I have reordered this Tao of Tea Bohea at least 4 times and it is consistently excellent. I love this delicately smoky black tea.
Yum!

Have a nice day everyone!

"Forgetting tea at home and having to think about it all day without tea"

I'm horrible about getting my act together enough in the mornings to bring tea to work. Then something stressful happens or I get tired and I have no tea to drink. Then I start thinking about my tea at home, what I'm going to brew, how I'm going to brew it, what pot and cup I'll use... I get lost in tea-related imaginings and then when I have to snap out of it and go back to work, I'm sad. *sigh*

I have a somewhat obnoxious timer so I rarely forget that tea is brewing, but sometimes I set the timer and forget to start it. I lurk around the kitchen for a bit and then check the timer to see how much longer I have to wait only to find that the timer has not changed from the time I initially set. That annoys me. Happened this morning, too.

Castleton 2nd flush something or other this morning. But it is all gone now. :(

these are ALL pet peeves of mine!
Especially waking up to dirty teaware, breaking teaware, and forgetting and overbrewing.

I broke my yixing pot two days ago! The lid cracked in half when I dropped it on the ground. Luckily it was my cheap pot that I used for all oolongs. I had the perfect excuse to buy these two pots, a nice one and a cheap one:

I also bought more matcha. "Kaoru" from O-cha

Another big pet peeve of mine
You're in tea-mode and ready to enjoy a nice long gongfucha session.
You're about to take your first sip of some expensive, delicious looking tea.
You don't let the tea cool enough and burn your tongue on the first sip, and cannot taste the tea for the rest of the session, UGH!

''Distracted while brewing a special tea, overbrewing it''
I did that recently with a song zhong dancong that I was brewing for close friends.

This morning finds Autumn '08 Xi Ping TGY in my cup. Last night's treat was a '97 Menghai #7572 Water Blue Label -- birthday Pu!

I've been pretty forgetful as of late; so getting distracted and forgetting that I was brewing a tea would be my vote.

This morning I had a craving for matè and an oolong. I was able to satisfy my craving with the matè but no oolong yet. Will probably brew up my alishan after lunch.

TeaPeeves

Major grind: tea varietal batch reproducibility isn't nearly as good as it used to be.

I really don't recall this being a major issue when teas were less popular. I can order a particular tea from the same vendor and I am sent a tea from an obviously different batch.

Unknown dark roast oolong of decent quality, in the cup this morning. Canister swapping led to loss of the label.

Other: Making the effort to have a travel mug of tea to bring with me on errands and get distracted enough by what needs to get done that the tea gets cold even if it was in my nice, stainless steel travel mug. This is followed closely by breaking tea ware, but ending up with cold tea in a travel mug that was supposed to keep it warm definitely takes the cake for me.

No tea yet for me today, though I was happily enjoying some YM late last night while studying.

I'll make a slight change to one of the entries. One of my biggest pet peeves right now is the fact that as I'm starting up I really don't have a reference point. As I'm making the tea, I still don't know if I'm making the tea to it's fullest potential or if I'm just drinking a subpar brew that is enjoyable. I guess I just need to stop fussing about making a great brew and go with the flow, and over time I'll get more of a feeling as I try different teas. The best loose leaf I've had is probably the Wegmans branded Ito-En or Rishi, so I have to broaden my horizons and try different types of tea that others on this board have enjoyed.

This morning there's been no tea so far. I burned my tastebuds with my tea session last night so I'm giving them a chance to recover until the afternoon.

For me it's definitely being distracted, and over steeping. This happens to me at work on a regular basis. But, to make something positive out of a peeve, it does make me appreciate that perfect cup more.
Yunnan Jig with breakfast today. Have a great day everyone.

Hm, I'm not sure that any of those are really peeves of mine. I mean it happens, but I don't really pay it any mind.

This morning: SA Genmaicha.

I voted for dirty teaware in the morning. Sometimes I get called over to a friends house and end up staying the night. When I come home... groggy from staying up late the night before... I want tea, now! However, I normally rush out of the house without cleaning my teaware first, so I'm greeted with the chore of cleaning it before using it when I get home.

My second vote would have been for samples of tea that didn't live up to their hype. My latest example: Genmai cha. In my last order from Adagio I threw a sample of that in there and now I wish I hadn't. I have brewed it 5 times (hotter, colder, longer, shorter) and I can't even stand the smell of the stuff. Smells and tastes like burned popcorn... at least to me anyways.

This morning I'm having Ti Kuan Yin... shhh, yes it's an oolong... don't tell anyone that oolong hater S.G. is having -gasp- oolong.... shhh!! I just finished seasoning my yixing pot with TKY and have been using it all morning.

I heard that :!: :D

And yeah, dirty teaware before tea in the morning is the pitz.

Fukamushi Supreme from O-Cha is in my cup and is ... well ... supreme.
