/me employs his powers of confusion and distraction in LiveChat again.

That guy is intense. It's like he's constantly angry about what everyone else is failing to explain--and justify--to him about the right way to brew tea. I've never seen someone request advice in such a hostile manner.

Curiosity is a *BOO*. First it killed the cat and then it made him an asshole.

Can someone clue me in on the screen name of the person?

I been putting in extra hours at work, and apparently
have missed quite a bit.
Thanks!

Now that I've read that, I can honestly say, "What a tool..."

I reread this and was concerned that I might be missunderstood, and didn't want to offend anyone. When I say forum I mean TeaChat and not ITD. There are many unpleasant chatters on the forum right now, and I don't think I am the only one who feels this way. Just looking throught ITD there are at least a half dozen current threads venting about some member or the other. Either we are all getting more prone to *BOO* in here, or things are becoming unfriendly out there.

What we saw in the IM today is just one example, a week ago they were openly attacking noobies in general.

There is something in the air and I don't like it.

Though I wasn't offended, I did misunderstand your initial remark.

There do seem to be a lot of problem noobies lately and not many interesting new ones. I wonder if this is just the luck of the draw, or if the forum is becoming big enough that more people -- including more weirdos -- are wandering in the front door.

There are always going to be the weirdos wondering through the doors of TeaChat since we are an open internet forum. The rant topics go back quite a ways. That said, there are several pushing the limits of patience of late.

Unfortunately, this also makes a mod's job more "intense" as well. Dealing with them judiciously in a fair yet prudent manner is not easy, especially if they are ruining the forum experience for everyone yet hover this side of the line. There is no pleasing everyone in this regard which is challenging for a non confrontational introvert. 8)

How many mods remain at this point?

What was seen on IM? Was it the thing with HD and noob talking about being the most 'evil' on the forum, or something?

I generally agree. There's a few people that have been all too ready to bring out some hostility. Fortunately it's a relative few people, but unfortunately they do stand out, which negatively impacts the general atmosphere.

We do actually have some interesting newbies. Herb_Master (something about his personality has come to annoy me, but he's generally a good guy that is stirring up some good conversation), I like seeing Disillusioned getting into tea after the nightmare of working at Teavana, girlchocolate is very new but very clear-headed, oolonga and la_victoria seem good but probably won't stick, and a few others that signed up the last quarter of last year and quickly made themselves at home (and probably one or two others that I'm forgetting).

I just think that these other guys are overshadowing all of the good guys on the forum.

...Like this new Mary_R chick that just signed up - she bugs me ;D
