I voted "very introverted" for what it's worth.

I am not sure. I know I used to be very introverted. But I tried hard to convert to extravert, or fake it
Coming from another country, I found western (or modern) society really discourages introverts harshly. I even found "self-help" books in bookstore for introverts! That really shocked me. Glancing them, I found one book mentioned if you stand by someone without talking to him, that's "rude". I don't agree with these kind of comments on introverts. I like dealing with people, and by nature I could be very talkative, but I dislike feeling forced to express everything
Well, I work with people all the time and do want people to think I am outgoing and friendly. So I kind of learned my way to be more extraverted, and the "small talk" stuff. But when I am with people whom I like talking with and don't have to force myself into the "social" mode, or when I am with people when I can spend quiet time without having to talk much, that's what I enjoy most

Only after you mentioned it, I noticed it's a pokemon cup. It blended in so well!xuancheng wrote:I love the pokemon cup, Salsero.

It's not so much putting on a false facade as it is work-place survival and human relations. Some professions require positive, frequent interaction with others, such as retail, nursing care, education, etc.
When I am at home I do not talk much, and my friends are people with whom I can just "be."
Although my neighbors are all barbarians,

I am introverted. I like to sit and observe more than anything (the chatters in the video tea chat may have noticed this). I normally don't talk to people face to face unless directly spoken to. It's not that I don't want to... I'm just shy
Scarlet Glow describes me really well because when I talk to someone face to face for the first time, I always blush.
However, there are those times when I'm highly caffeinated and feel like spontaneously playing in the recent ice storm.

After watching the poll all morning - I seem to be the only one considering myself extroverted. Gulp. I'm forgiving - I like people - and crowds and parties and mass transit. I leap before i look sometimes - and expect to learn from mistakes. I can't say that i have regrets. I have found people I genuinely value - in all age groups -

Nope, strongly expressed extrovert here. I like my alone time, but anyone who knows me would fall down laughing if it were suggested that meant I had introverted tendencies.laran7 wrote:After watching the poll all morning - I seem to be the only one considering myself extroverted.

This morning in my cup: a tiny bit of coffee. GASP! I forgot to fill the zoji so I'm waiting for hot water so I can have some tea. I think I'll have some Iron Goddess King from NCTG. Yay!
I split the difference, right up the middle
I lean towards introverted. But when I get excited about something I love, like Tea - I can be quite extroverted. But that's not my nature. So I guess it balances out.
This morning's cup - ToT Bohea.
Happy Sunday Everyone!

Funny you should ask this question... just this past week, I took a Myers-Briggs personality test again for the first time in several years. I actually took several versions of this assessment and I always come out the same:
Your personality type is INFP.
Introverted (I) 57% Extraverted (E) 43%
Intuitive (N) 55% Sensing (S) 45%
Feeling (F) 100% Thinking (T) 0%
Perceiving (P) 77% Judging (J) 23%
I think the I and E are interesting, because I find I really am quite a split in this department. My work is largely about communication, being emotionally present for other people, listening, interacting, and sharing information. I have to lean so far toward extroversion when I'm working, that I often go "into the cave" when I'm not working... I read, watch TV, fiddle with the computer, and enjoy time to myself. I'm a social creature and if I get an invitation out on a date or to a party or shopping with friends, I rarely decline... I love to be with people. But if I don't get my quiet time on a regular basis, it makes me feel quite stressed. My test's comparison of Introvert and Extrovert are as follows:
Extraverts often:
Have high energy
Talk more than listen
Think out loud
Act, then think
Like to be around people a lot
Prefer a public role
Can sometimes be easily distracted
Prefer to do lots of things at once
Are outgoing & enthusiastic
Introverts often:
Have quiet energy
Listen more than talk
Think quietly inside my head
Think, then act
Feel comfortable being alone
Prefer to work "behind-the-scenes"
Have good powers of concentration
Prefer to focus on one thing at a time
Are self-contained and reserved
So, I am not surprised that I am fairly evenly split... because I lean in both directions at different points in time, especially comparing professional to personal time. I must say, I was worried about scoring 100% on feeling and 0% on Thinking, that just sounded bad... until I read the explanation... and I realized, yes, that's me, 100% feeling:
Thinkers often:
Make decisions objectively
Appear cool and reserved
Are most convinced by rational arguments
Are honest and direct
Value honesty and fairness
Take few things personally
Tend to see flaws
Are motivated by achievement
Argue or debate issues for fun
Feelers often:
Decide based on their values & feelings
Appear warm and friendly
Are most convinced by how they feel
Are diplomatic and tactful
Value harmony and compassion
Take many things personally
Are quick to compliment others
Are motivated by appreciation
Avoid arguments and conflicts
If anyone wants to try some type testing, if you don't mind being categorized by standardized testing... LOL

I'm sort of split down the middle. I was a shy kid. I'm introverted when I first meet people but once they get to know me I don't shut up
. At work I am a little different since I work in retail. But it is a pet store so it is easy for me to be talkative about something I have a passion for. College forced me to get used to public speaking and working in groups. I'm also a Girl Scout leader so I have to be really extroverted when I'm doing things with my girls. No tea for me yet today, maybe tonight when I get home.

I am exactly INFP too. I don't remember my other scores, but my I and E scores are also like 6:4 !
I remember the book says, the goal of life of many INFP's is to find out goal of life. I was a little shocked by it at the moment, but then felt it was somewhat true

ISTJ, FTW.....
Sarah, you stole my thunder,
When I took the "test" I was pretty shocked, but then everything started to make sense as I learned more. It is really very interesting.
I am very introverted, but always push myself to not live in "my TeaCave atop Mt Fuji." where I would likely be very comfortable living as a hermit
with me and my tea. But I am always acutely aware and am comfortable with it, but not content, if that makes any sense, challenging myself. Because by nature, I would live in a TeaCave.
Started the TeaDay late, Fukamushi Supreme from O-Cha which was realllly good. SweeTea enjoyed it as much as me it seems, Pyrit enjoyed stretching across the table begging for a belly rub. Everyone else was well into cat naps.
