Good Luck, I feel the pressure of responsibility on my shoulders now. I hope the teas turn out fine, let us know when they arrive!danibob wrote:Thanks again to everyone for their input!
I placed an order with teacuppa for some 15 gram samples. I think I mainly stuck to the long leaf oolongs like the dan congs and wuyi. I definitely got the first four Herb Master recommended. They seemed the most appealing to my tastes.
And then I ordered a lovely gaiwan (5 oz) and 4 oz tea cup from another place.
I can't wait to try them!

I see from your post on the Daily Cuppa that they have arrived! Have you any photos, or verbal updates to give us?danibob wrote:Thanks again to everyone for their input!

I've only tried the DHP, phoenix dancong and honey orchid dancong so far. I use a 100mL gaiwan and water temp around 205 degrees. I did a succession of quick infusions starting with 5-10 seconds, increasing a bit as I went on. I don't have a gram scale, but I'd say my gaiwan was filled 1/3 with dry leaf.Herb_Master wrote:I see from your post on the Daily Cuppa that they have arrived! Loved the dancongs. Fantastic honey aroma and delicate taste. I'm considering getting a yixing to use with these. Any suggestions?
Wasn't too impressed with the DHP. Either I didn't brew it right or I'm not fond of the taste. It was smokey, almost spicy, and something else a little dark I couldn't quite place. I'll be sure to try it again though before I count it out completely.
I might try the Rou Gui next. Any advice as to how to brew this optimally?
