I actually liked some of what he had to say in the gongfu poll - I didn't see his comments as antagonistic, and I didn't see it as turning it into a crisis, but rather just intellectualized it a bit. I was a little ambivalent about the bit about defining gongfu, though - I thought he took that a little too far without contributing his own thoughts - but I saw the rest as valid points to be considered that added more than detracted from the thread.

I mean, obviously you just wanted some light fun with whether people brewed gongfu style or not, but discussing these kinda things is why we're here :) After all, it's not like he acted like Tenuki making sideways comments that nobody there knew anything about anything.

To me it just basically sounds like not knowing when to stop. I rather enjoy talking to him, both here and on IM, but I guess I can see that a bit. The main thing I've seen on here is when someone really isn't listening to or getting the answers to their questions, and he loses all patience and tact. In the times I've seen it it just made me laugh because I could fully sympathize, but I wouldn't do the same myself.

Maybe it's just because I'm livechatting more now, but it seems like there are a lot of good newbies now. Yay! :)

I don't agree but I am not having much trouble ignoring them so far.
