Beercrofter----as far as the table being "fugly", that opinion is yours, and I respect it, but I was going for a "hagi" style look, having a white dripping effect to match the glaze on my Hagi teaware.

Oh great, now I have to research hagi ware :)

I have my own mature grove and can offer some pointers on selecting the culms to use, and on tools to work the bamboo to get nice results.

Well....as expected, and pointed out to me by many of you, the bamboo has start to split. I currently do not notice and difference in its structural integrity so perhaps it will just add to its uniqueness. Maybe after it dries out all the way I can put a sealant over it that way water drippings dont cause more splitting.
