:D

I completely mis-understood the question! I've ordered tea in London, Taiwan, Okinawa/Japan -- but that was during "tea" or a meal!! :D

So far, I haven't "ordered" tea and purchase my teas locally. I'm sure that will change soon. I've got friends traveling to China in a few weeks -- I'll place my "order" withe them!!

Margaret's Hope darjeeling in the mug this a.m.

More than half of my tea is purchased and shipped from China, and now from Japan, so 5000+ for me.

Spring Dragon Formosa oolong in my cup this morning.

Like a lot of people...the farthest away was from O-Cha. And google maps does have you kayak across the Pacific, but at least you get to take a break in Hawaii. It would be a little long otherwise. ^_~

Fa fa away ... More than 5,000 for me. I have ordered from Japan, China, and Taiwan. Every transaction was perfect, but I never had tea shipped via the "slow boat" which would likely drive me nutz. Most orders arrive within a week, and sometimes in 3-4 days.

I had given up on domestic vendors 3 years ago, found TeaChat, and then Adagio who restored my faith in USA vendors. I now also order domestically and will order more from USA vendors.

Started the day with Fukamushi The Ultimate, last of the tin and added Tenho from TJGTS to make it a full pot. Very good blend indeed. SweeTea agreed, Pyrit was being a pest, and Honi Belle was front and center at the radiant heater on a cold morning.

Google says it's 9,056 miles between Indianapolis and O-Cha, and 9,303 miles between Indianapolis and Ippodo.

What I find unbelievable is that my order from Ippodo arrived in four days. I mean, I can barely get a domestic package from Ohio to Indiana in four days. Talk about efficiency...

I've ordered more than 5K mi away for teas from Japan & China. How far away is France? I've ordered from there, too lol. I hate how customs would keep my tea and leave it to go stale before I get to enjoy it.

This morning, I brewed up some Alishan from Adagio and about to brew up dragonwell with my lemon & honey for my sore throat. bleh...

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TEADAY!

In my cup this morning an oolong from Imen's Tea Habitat shop,
but I don't remember the name. It was one from the tasting.

Congrats to TeaDay for the huge success it has been over the last year. I was a 'lurker' for most of last year, and did not join TC until September.

My kudos for the fun, friends and knowledge that I have just started to amass by being part of the wonderful forum. Kudos to Adagio for being a wonderful host, kudos for Chip for his neverending ideas for TD - of course with a little help from his friends - and for his willingness to help all, even the newest of newbies !!! Even though we seem to struggle through asking the same questions over and over. Please forgive our iniquities

I have encountered for the most part extremely friendly and helpful teachatters. Some appear, IMHO, not to be as willing to share their knowledge as we newbies seem to continually ask the same questions and ya know, that is okay. We can read the posts and glean the knowledge from that. There is sooo much here to learn and we can also have fun doing it.

I am lookoing forward to another extremely successful year here on TeaDay and TeaChat!

Thanks again for such a GREAT Forum and for all the HELP!
Have a FAB TeaDay Everyone!

I'm with the 5000+ club. Japan from a couple of places and my Teacuppa order was from Malaysia.

Ruska tea this morning. Finally able to go to work today, though I did a little sliding on a huge ice patch on the highway - that section of road had a bridge shadow falling on it so it was still super slick. So that was fun. Sadly, after being out two days, I'm pretty sure I'll be able to make up all my work and even have some time to work out Viva Pinata strategies at work today. My job is somewhat of a joke.

Have purchased tea, blacks/oolongs directly from India (darjeeling and assam), greens from China, Japan, but not Korea (yet). Thank god for producers who think outside the box and offer estate teas through their websites.

The Web is changing the seller-buyer dynamic for tea purchases.

Jasmine oolong in the cup. Trying to 'think Spring'.

Congrats on 20,000th post, Victoria!

I just brewed up some Irish Breakfast here at work. It used to be my go-to favorite, but I think my tastes are changing a bit. Only steeped for 3 minutes and it looks REALLY dark. I can't believe I used to let it go for 5 minutes ...
