I grew up in West Virginia- the northern panhandle- a huge steel mill downtown not the beautiful part down state. Only consolation- the Steelers and the Pirates-
Now I live just outside of Washington DC. My goal was to get out of WV and so I did although I didn't make it to Fl which was my goal (salsero- I love your pix and you so help me make it throught winter!). Oh well, I love DC- a big city without the skyscrapers and with green space. I did live in NC for grad school- loved it.

Drax- I'm also thinking of Ali Shan when I get to work.

I think the old country singer Bobby Bare had the song "500 miles from home" and that's where I'm at...

But don't miss it.

Shhh don't tell them but... I'm still living in the hospital. I sneak around and eat jello at night and sleep standing up in the bathroom stall. Living the life.

I don't know how to get the distance. By googling, I could get the airline distance, which is larger than earth surface distance :P

(oh, found the surface distance) But I guess it's either below or above 6000mile, too close to tell.

Wait a minute... isn't the circumference of the earth just around 20,000 km, or 13,000 miles? How can one get from 10,000 mi away? Mars?

Oh finally I found an online distance calculator that can tell distance from anywhere to the country club near my home! Hoho this is fun!
http://www.infoplease.com/atlas/calculate-distance.html

So I am just less than 6000 miles away from birth place.

I only live about thirty miles from my birthplace, but I have lived further away and in less than a year I will be moving to California.

Im going to brew some herbal up and then go to bed. Worked all night, very sleepy.

 LOL Thanks for making my day.

I'm at about 1800 miles, and lovin' it. I'll be here for at least the next 4-5 years, enjoying the epic pow.

I feel the same way! In modern society, this is harder and harder to achieve. Even my home at my hometown is around 20 miles away from my birth place, a hometown hospital.

Luckily in modern societies transporting tea around the world is much easier. :D

Nice picture, Sal, and cute scoop!

Barely less than 3000 miles, 2768 to be exact! Grew up on the east coast, now I live in the Pacific NW.

Nilgiri Neela from Tao of Tea in my cup this morning.

According to Google, it is 1,216 miles from my home to by birthplace in North Carolina. And I have the strange desire to move even further west. Texas winters are too cold.

No really. They are.

I voted 10 miles. I live the next town over from the hospital I was born in. I've never actually lives further than 40 miles from home and that was to go away to college. Drinking Dong Ding from Amai, sweet little tea shop I found by work.
