I'm semi-tech, I use the microwave timer at home and have an on-screen timer here at work, mostly because I tend to forget about things! I use a scale for fluffier teas and greens and a thermometer when I'm cooling water for green teas.

This morning I enjoyed some Nilgiri Glendale OP from TeaSource. Not sure yet what I'll be having here at work.

Oh, yeah, nice pics today Sal and Victoria!

I like my tools: scale, timer, thermometer, utiliTEA kettle. I started off without anything but my results got better once I gave in and became a brewing control freak. lol.

This morning I'm drinking a sencha sample from Bassaro.

I am kinda high tech. I love my zoji water heater. I do have a thermometer (non-digital kind), though it doesn't get used too often, except with Japanese greens. My timer gets used a good amount though. I still prefer my incredibly precise measuring spoon for scooping the teas and refuse to get a digital scale.

Currently in my cup is a blend of a ceylon from the local organic store with a few leaves of Orange Blossom Oolong. It is good.

I have been really loving me some Hibiki-an Genmaicha Matcha - iri that I had forgotten I had. Despite being several months neglected it's still a real treat. Might have to order more! Bright, lively taste, ultra green, easy to brew beautiful to look at. It's the soda pop of Japanese green tea! Three solid infusions so far and I'm heading in for a fourth.

I have (and love) my zojirushi and digital scale. I use a timer less often, and when I do it's usually just the one on my cell phone. For pu and oolong I get very high tech, for my Chinese greens and blacks I usually wing it, they're pretty forgiving. For any Indian blacks I use a timer, those things get bitter. Come this spring I'll probably be tweaking my Japanese green brewing.

Today has been Panyang Golden Needle and Assam Golden Tips so far. Cold day needs strong tea.

Growing more high tech every day. Ive always used a timer and iI recently started using a thermometer instead of guessing how hot my water is. I use a spoon to measure, no scale yet. I use a kettle and stovetop to heat my water so not too high tech there, but I have my eyes on a nice electric kettle.

Coffee in my cup right now because Im sick of the cheap tea bags at the tiny coffee shop at my college. Ive got lychee red from the tea gallery waiting for me at home though, very exciting :D .

I would say i'm fairly high tech. I love my zojis for keeping my water at a good temp, i have timers and scales, i'll probably get graduated cylinders pretty soon here.

I have the gadgets and use them pretty much, pretty hi-tech brewer, though I noticed since I set the timer to "count up," I pay much less attention to it ... which tbh is pretty nice (also much more pleasant not hearing the frickin' beeeeeeping  ). I also use my scale much less these days for teas other than Japanese. I am also using my thermometer less it seems.

I guess I am evolving a bit. 8)

Started the TeaDay with a new organic Fukamushi from Yuuki-Cha, upped the leaf this time and it came out pretty darn good. SweeTea apparently concurred, Pyrit was just hangin' out as has become her norm. :D I am thinking this is not quite fukamushi though, maybe between deep and mid steamed. The leaf is not as broken as fuka and the brew is not as green.

Next up was O-Cha Chiran Supreme, YM's little bro'. I quite like this and think it is a great value at <18 USD.

Hope everyone is having a great TeaDay.

Starting the day with matcha, thanks Chip! The sifted powder

I don't use thermometer, timer or scale in my personal drinking. From time to time, I think of taking some measurement on optimal temperature of different teas, but so far i am too lazy and not curious enough to carry it out.

Some "high" tech gadget I am considering recently (however not sure if I really want it) :P It's supposed to protect your fingers when handling hot gaiwan

Interesting! Kinda ruins the esthetics though.

Hmmm. I like to think I'm casual and don't need my techy toys, but as I was making tea this morning, I poured from my zoji, into a (exactly) 8oz pitcher with a thermometer, waited for the temp I wanted, then poured into a pot that I know the exact size, with an exact-from-experience quantity of tea leaves. Heh.

I think "techy" for me is nearly inborn.

Received this yesterday, it's crossposted in "show off," (sorry.) Sadly, the second the hot tea hit the cup, I heard the distinctive *tink*tink* of glaze crackling. Fortunately, there are three cups, and the one that crackled did not actually crack. If I want to use this set, I will have to be VERY careful about prewarming.
