I'm having trouble remembering any particular teascene, but maybe when I'm more awake, something will pop into my head.

This morning I have some Formosa Choicest Oolong in my cup.

Happy Friday, everyone and

to our own Victoria!

Brew up a little green tea and you will have some Instant Spring. As for me, it's Panyong Congou black from Fujian Province this morning to warrrrrm up!

For those who want some beautiful Yunnan scenery and minority peoples info, here is a cool CBC video link that Poulin posted yesterday in the Badger and Blade Forum:

I'm with Drax on the Tea Ceremony Martial Arts School bits of Ranma 1/2, and Trey on the HHGT2G tea incident with Arthur Dent. (Doesn't help either my geek cred OR my tea cred to admit that I drew a complete blank until I read those.)

I'm quite fond of the film Rikyu because, of course, it's all about tea:

I am also longing to see the movie Tea Fight, although so far I haven't had any luck in getting it. If it's as fun as it looks, it could well become my top contender:

Wish I could think of another tea example in Western film or lit, though. One of my favourite films is Housekeeping, and the poster featured a young Christine Lahti daintily drinking a cup of tea in a cosy chair while flood waters rose in the room around her. Unfortunately, while the house in the film does get flooded, there is no scene I can remember that includes a teacup:

(Dreadfully misleading poster, by the way. Makes the movie look like a sitcom, which it certainly is NOT. It's predominantly melancholy, with occasional wry moments.)

May have to post again later when I've woken up a bit more!

I said I couldn't remember one, but I was wrong-ish because I remembered a scene from a fanfic where a character made tea with loose leaf and and was thinking of another character's annoying habit of making tea with a bag. *shrug* That's all I got.

Spearmint and cream blend for me today. So happy it is Friday. Hope everyone has a good one.

The two that immediately came to my mind were Captain Picard with "Tea. Earl Grey. Hot." and the scene in Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy where Arthur Dent was trying to explain tea to the computer.

I am currently waiting for the water to heat up so I can make some Yutaka Midori this morning.

Happy Birthday, Victoria!

This topic is one that haven't put any thought into, so I can't come up with a tea scene.

The only scene that comes to mind is Lady Hestor Random having tea with Mussolini in the movie, ``Tea with Mussolini''. The movie is about the indomitable spirit of the British women who were trapped in Italy while Hitler was rising. There are great actresses in this movie, Maggie Smith, Judi Dench, Joan Plowright, Lily Tomlin, and Cher is in it too.

Teaspring's Huo Shan Huang Ya last night. Upton's Da Hong Pao this morning. I'm off to Rochester (NY) this afternoon.

I couldn't think of anything until I read your post! I need to start reading other's posts before I vote. I love The Hobbit and LOTR!

In my cup this morning, I dunno, something from a bag. I got stranded in icy snowy weather a my grandparents house last night and this is all they have.

Happy Bday Victoria!

As far as memorable scenes go for me, too hard to pick. The ranma 1/2 scenes w/ the tea ceremony are quite memorable, but when in the realm of anime there's LOTS of tea related scenes. Outside of anime I agree that the Hitchhiker's guide is right up there, but also is the scene from Karate Kid.

I'm sure there are more that will come to mind.

This morning's cup: Chado Tea House - Ashikubo Gold.

The one that always comes to mind is as CK already mentioned, "tea, earl grey, hot." All the teas he could have chosen, oh well. I often wonder what tea was being consumed in Middle Earth in LotR, but no one line ever pops into my mind like Picards.

Started the TeaDay with Fukamushi Supreme from O-Cha. Very good as always, SweeTea would concur! Pyrit made a return to the tea table. :D

Next up, Adagio Keemun Rhapsody. Good Keemun Mao Feng.
