Hmmm.... I'd go for a composite of several different styles:

Open floor-plan, high ceilings, tons of windows...

A MASSIVE kitchen with double oven, every gadget and appliance, and enough countertop space to spread out and cook a feast...

A Zen meditation room with a beautiful view for making and drinking tea...

A home theater...

A big front porch and a big deck, and ditto on the invisible edge pool and matching hot tub...

A horse-barn with horses, and acreage for riding...

A massive fenced-in area for as many dogs as I want...

A lake or pond for fishing...

A view of something beautiful... mountains or ocean or gorgeous rolling hills...

A morel mushroom patch on the property...

Gardens... flower gardens with walking paths... and a huge vegetable and herb garden...

Sounds like a crazy combination of cottage, ultra modern, and traditional mansion. Sounds really good, though. :D

In my cup this morning is Genmaicha Extra Green from Den's... a sample in the recent order I received. It had a bit of matcha in it, and has been very delicious through about 4 brews so far. I'm about ready for something new now... but what?

"Classic craftsman, updated with plenty of "green" features, and moderately sized."

This would also be my first choice, too. I almost chose lighthouse, but it would be a better choice as vacation destination. I also considered a Frank Lloyd Wright (Usonian design would suffice), but the Foundation requires adhering to original specifications that precludes energy improvements.

English Breakfast in the cup.

Modern – a combination/juxtaposition of old and new with Asian influence. Stone, re-claimed wood, bamboo – lots of bamboo. Calligraphy + contemporary art + collection of Japanese tea cups + lots of gadgets and yes a kimono (lots os them) to wear. And a Japanese style garden of course.

Drinking Sencha and thinking that it would be nice to fantasize like that for a little while longer ...

I choose super green home, but I think Id choose a combination of styles. I saw pictures of a house once that was very contemporary/modern but it still had a bit of a rustic log cabin type of feel to it. I was in love. Most important though would be the "green" features.

I'm gonna have to agree with this one :) I chose modern style, with an Asian influence in mind. Cherry blossoms a must :D And definitely a huge kitchen with any gadget/utensil I could ever possibly need. A media room for sure filled with every gaming console known to man and the world's most up to date customized computer with an amazing sound system to go with it! I would also love a recording studio-esque room where I can put all of my instruments and can do some recording with friends sometimes. And needless to say a beautiful tea room with PLENTY of storage space ;)

I just got home so no tea for me yet, but I plan to make some Sakura Sencha here in a minute! Enjoy your day everyone!

I'd totally go for an old Victorian with modern convinces and luxuries added of course....and a lovely flower garden in the back with a vegetable patch tucked away. :)

Having a cup of jasmine dragon tears again today, it's such a lovely light tea to begin the day with. :D

Penthouse apartment in NYC overlooking Central Park, please. I'm not really interested in owning an actual house. I'm sick of suburban living.

It's 65 degrees here today. Wow. Having some yummy birthday tea with my brunch.

What a decision! My dream house would be either a craftsman-style bungalow or a big 'ol farmhouse, but it would be completely modern as far as green materials, paint, etc. It would also have a big screened sun/tea room with a room on the side just for preparing tea. My house would be located on some nice, wooded acreage that still got lots of sunshine and would be surrounded by a cottage garden, with a kitchen garden by the back door. Of course there would be a couple of black labs laying on the back porch, and a calico cat keeping the rodents away!

Formosa Choicest Oolong in my cup this morning.

Intuit, someone who works for me lived at a lighthouse on the Oregon coast for a few months. He said that it was better to visit than to live there!

The Reading (PA) Pagoda atop Mt Penn and overlooking my fair city would be my first choice, but it is currently unavailable. 8)

Extreme engineered (complete with cantilevered sections and decks), ultra modern contemporary, with strong Japanese influence ... and it must have green features. A tea room is a must with an inspiring vista. And while we are at it, a kitchen with lots of room that will inspire creativity. Incredible Japanese gardens surrounding the entire house would compliment it perfectly.

I have also been a FLW fan forever, so I see his influence as well.

Either that or a TeaCave atop Fuji.

Started the day with Adagio Sencha Premier done right and brewed/enjoyed in a stunning Hagi set. SweeTea enjoyed it as much as I did. Pyrit was a keen observer while TEAh and Ceylon were busy playing. :D

16'x24' timber frame, stress skin panels, 12 pitch roof. All interior cabinetry built in. Glazed completely around the top plate to provide lighting. Couches, beds , and tables to fold like murphy beds. Oriented to use one entire roof surface as the support for a PV array. Floor to top plate bookshelves on one entire wall.

must have sweet water spring on site

A lodge/cottage style house (with running water, power and internet) located in Geiranger in Norway, on one of those tops in this picture. (http://www.grande-fjordhytter.no/800%20 ... ranger.jpg).
Inside I would like:

-A nice study room filled with books that fit my interests.
-A living room with a high end hifi-system.
-A not too big tea and relaxation room
-A Modest bedroom
-A Standard kitchen
-A nice bright and warm bathroom

That is it, more than that would be too big for one person. I would be more concerned about where it was than how big it was, too big is just depressing anyway.

Trying a sample I got today. Tan Yang Gong Fu, a red tea from jing tea shop. Quite interesting, reminds be a bit of Yunnan golden needles, but a bit lighter and a few floral hints.

I've always liked the way that Frank Lloyd Wright designed his dwellings to fit into the landscape and with the way he used open space, so I'd like a home designed in his style. It would also have to be pretty green, passive and/or geothermal heating with loads of glass in a private setting and with gardens. That's not too much to ask. Oh, it wouldn't have to be too big, just big enough to have family and a few guests.

Finished yesterday with Jing's Da Hong Pao, Hou de's Ba Xian Dancong, and Royal Puer's Ya Bao. Started my morning with Teaspring's Beidou No 1. My son just went back to school this morning so I will be drinking more ordinary teas once again.
