Definately multi-task! I drink tea all day at work. :D

I'm another multi-tasker. Remember the days when your parents said to concentrate on one thing at a time? Sadly, times have really changed and we rarely are able to do that!

It was definitely Friday the 13th for my new Brown Betty teapot's lid this morning. I couldn't find my usual strainer and had to use one that I had to hold over the cup. Sure enough, since I wasn't holding the lid on Betty, it fell on the floor and broke into pieces. Does anyone know of a source for lids only?

Although my teapot suffered, I still enjoyed the Nilgiri Glendale FOP that I had brewed.

I have to multi-task because of my job and because I drink a lot of tea. However, when I have free time at home some weekend evenings, I enjoy devoting all of my attention to tea.

Finished a bag of Mem Imports Jade Oolong this morning. Next, I'll be finishing a bag of Mem's Organic Dark Wuyi Oolong.

Salsero wrote:Very rarely do I ever just drink tea ... most of the time I am on line, reading, watching a DVD, working, taking a photo or working it up in Photoshop, but just drinking tea ... almost never. That's a nice thing about have a little local tea group. When we get together, the focus is principally on the tea.

I have really been loving this Genmaicha lately as well as my first bag of bancha and some kukicha.

If anyone knows the name of this flowering landscape shrub, I would like to know what it is. I think it has a bunch of red leaves during the summer.

Salsero I think you have a pink witch hazel. A very beautiful one. I still havent figured out how to post pictures yet  so heres a link

Oh no!! I sometimes take a cup and sit it on my glass pot if the lid is not handy.
If you have some small cups you might find that works out.

The nonconforming infuser has been the ruin of several of my pot lids in the past. I have finally figured out "don't do that!!!"

I try to start out focusing on the first steep at least, and know I will eventually lose focus. Sometime I think I have a very short attention span. But the first steep at least I try to start out very focused on the tea.

Started the TeaDay using my a brand new Onihagi Deishi Kyusu (on the left) that arrived yesterday miraculously after <2.5 days. :D

Brewed up Sencha Premier for the maiden flight. Very nice experience all the way around, the kyusu performed over and above expectations! SweeTea approved completely. Pyrit approved of the new treaure!

Another intriguing poll question Chip!

The first 2 choices when you think about it are very closely related. Does one really want to make the time to just drink tea or not???

I answered I prefer to multi-task, because I rarely just do one thing at a time. If I am eating cereal, I have to read the cereal box if no other reading material is handy! I do not just watch TV, I will read a book, work on a puzzle or do some other activity, not just sit still and watch.

However, I would not discount, just brewing and drinking tea..if the right person came along to share the experience with.....how lovely that would be...

In my cuppa, Kabuse Cha from Yuuki-Cha, a gift :!:

Lovely Chip, this deserves a new post!!!

I love the one on the right...is that yours too? You didn't mention it in your post. Looks similar in design to one you posted a while ago, I believe it is 'brown' in color? Would it be the same artist????

Great new additions to your fam
Have a FAB TeaDay Everyone!

I try to use my tea time as a time for reflections, meditation and do my daily devotions. For me drinking tea is my calgon moment. Well 15 if I'm lucky. I make it my time out from the stresses of life.
I try to spread the gospel one teacup at a time. God Bless you.

Wow, those photos really cinch the ID. With a little more research I think it is probably the "Burgundy" cultivar. I've been wondering what those are for years and it feels so nice to finally know!

AS FOR HOW TO POST PHOTOS:
I post them from Photobucket. You can open a free Photobucket account and upload the photos to that account. Copy the IMG link that accompanies your photo and paste it in your post here. The photo remains at Photobucket, but magically looks like it is here.

It's not a bad idea to resize the photo (either in your own software or in Photobucket) to no more that 600 pixels in the longest dimension, otherwise people using Internet Explorer get some minor but irritating image size problems. You can also upload the photo to photobucket and copy and paste a "Direct Link" here; the photo won't appear in TeaChat, but the link will take people to it.

You can paste a small (600 px) photo in here and link to a larger image (if you have both in photobucket) or a different image or a slide show by filling your Direct Links into the following formula in a TeaChat post:

DIRECT LINK BIG PIC]

AS FOR IN MY CUP NOW:
Himalayan Tips Hand Rolled black tea: refreshing and light, a bit like a light Darjeeling or a fuller-bodied oolong.

Thanks for the nice photo comments, Drax, auggy, and brad4419!

YES, please resize or you will be hearing from your friendly TC moderator :D asking you to resize. 600 or 640 is fine for width. Anything larger and your Internet Explorer/TC friends will curse your photos  instead of enjoy them to their fullest potential because it will force them to repeatedly scroll side to side while trying to read the entire page. Trust me, it is annoying especially when it is easy for the poster to fix.

Shelob and Olivier, thanks. More on these pieces will be under the Show Off topic and the Hagi topic sometime today.

Yeah, I think I will have to do that. It broke pretty cleanly into 4 pieces but I don't know if there's a "tea-safe" glue out there! I am SO mad because I've only had the pot for a couple of weeks!
