Jasmine scented Silver Needle for me. Very close – Earl Grey and a good quality Rose tea. These are my feel good options.

Darjeeling #22 in my cup.

Powerfully linked to feelings of sanctuary.

My first exposure to tea was not at home, but at the quiet table of a much beloved relative, a cheerful person who generously extended deep affection and offered acceptance without question.

My first tea was undoubtedly from Scotland, a mild afternoon Darjeeling or milky Nilgiri blend suitable for children. Later it would include brisk Brodies loose-leaf, probably their Glasgow or Edinburgh morning blends.

Scottish breakfast tea in the cup, and Keemun superior later on.

Edit: mention of a China Rose Congou (by Jazz), and a delicate Earl Grey by others, also elicits comfort and calm.

For me it's 'Vanilla Cream' from OCTAVIA. It's rooibos with vanilla and chocolate. I could always drink that one.

that would be Long Jing. This is the tea I brew on weekends when I have the time to enjoy it completely.

Not surprisingly, that's what I enjoyed this morning.

My comfort teas are all black by definition, although I still think Darjeeling deserves its own category. Lighter greener Darjeelings are my go-to tea now, when I just know I need tea, but I don't know which one.

My go-to iced teas are Rose Marzipan and Sweet Cranberry Black from the dreaded Teavana... the first 2 loose leaf teas I ever purchased, and still some of the best flavored teas I've ever had for sweetened iced tea.

In my cup this morning has been the last of my Darjeeling Pussimbing FF from Tea Emporium. I see they have gotten some new First Flush offerings, so I may have to make an order. I am almost out of DJ.

Sarah
***This organic blend is earthy & spicy, with a fragrant aroma & smooth flavor to captivate the senses. Naturally sweetened in the Kentucky sunshine & infused with natural energy. Equally delicious when served piping hot or crisply chilled.***

When I got back, the lady who ran the tavern attached to the carriage house brought me a big pot of Darjeeling and some shortbread. I think this moment is my Pavlov's Bell :D

Aphroditea and Intuit, you have me so longing for my dream trip of visiting Scotland and Ireland someday! I've tried two teas today with unsatisfying results, so I think I'll switch to Irish Breakfast, my go-to comfort tea!

I cannot decide which is my comfort tea it seems, a toss up between Keemun blacks and Long Jing green. I will flip a coin to vote.

I just got a box from Japan today with some new Hagi. Very nice pieces!

Just finished a nice session of Fukamushi Supreme from O-Cha. Very nice indeed! SweeTea took more than her share.

I am thinking Matcha next

It's definitely the Keemun family of teas for me. I picked up a bit of Keemun Panda #1 early in my exploration of loose leaf tea and it's rich natural sweetness and forgiving character charmed me right from the start. :D

I've since tried to always keep some Keemun around the house. :)

Methinks your recent polls about tea and -ware budgets came from the whisperings of your ``good'' conscience. Do you have a Hagi problem? You can tell us.

As I mentioned this morning I have been good at managing my tea, so I get another reward today. I'm about to open Yame Sencha ``The Ultimate'' from Zencha.
