I chose rarely but I'm definitely a good mix of both! I do keep a few favorites on hand at all time, such as Earl Grey, White Peach, and Silver Needle, and I plan to buy enough Sakura Sencha to last me until next spring hopefully. Haha, I'm sure over the course of the next year, however, some more will be added to that list! But, I really am never satisfied with the different teas I have! I'm always looking for new and better teas than I have at the current moment!
Just finished up a cup of Earl Grey Creme from SpecialTeas and I think I'll be moving on to some Dragonwell. It's my first time having a chinese green! Any particular brewing tips/instructions I should follow?

Welcome to TeaDay TurtleChelle! Luv your nameTurtleChelle wrote:I have a few I know I love and keep on hand, but I always throw a sample of something I haven't tried when ordering. I've found some of my favorites that way.
Which teas do you like to drink? Japanese greens are my fave.
Which tea[s] is your favorite, you never seem to tell us what you are drinking in TeaDaysilvermage wrote:I am fairly content but not closed to finding and trying new teas.

I used to want to try every tea within my fave types. Unfortunately I had too many fave types, Keemuns, Darjeelings, Oolongs, Greens, etc. It was really out of control.
However once I focused on greens, the journey became much easier to handle. I still have my faves, but always reach out within my area of "specialty" which is currently Japanese greens. I would say I have around 15 faves within this class on a list that is growing.
Further complicating things is the never ending change that is the nature of tea. Finding a great one today does not guaranteee it will be great the next time I order it.
Started the TeaDay with a new "great one." Organic Kabusecha from Yuuki Cha. This is likely as close as one can find to great organic gyokuro which currently does not exist, IMHO. However, this is a very good compromise. SweeTea agreed. Quite a few observers this morning, Pyrit, TEAh, Gandalf, Wulong, and the Lil' Bit.
Next up was Fukamushi Superior from O-Cha.
2 teas, two faves that I will reorder.

Tea Reviewer
As a tea reviewer I don't usually have a choice in trying a new tea or not. I do personally tend to buy personal favorites in addition to new teas.
I like to buy Genmaicha from as many vendors as possible as it's a real favorite of mine... but I also like great Tisane blends as well...

Very peaceful photo, Sal, I like it!
Hmmm, I'm pretty content with my teas, but never averse to trying new (except for that awful Lapsang souchong stuff. Smells like a smoky campfire.
) Given the opportunity, I go exploring for new teas, but otherwise, I've got plenty of really good teas in the cupboard.

Started the day with a yellow tea that left me somewhat unsatisfied,
looking forward now to a nice oolong.

I have some favorites, but love to try new teas as well. Though I have been finding that some of the teas that I enjoyed previously are not as good as I remembered them to be when I first tried them so favorites tend to get replaced in that matter. I always keep certain types of teas on hand like at least one black tea, one Japanese green, one dark roasted oolong, and something herbal. The teas themselves within the categories change, but there are a few that I keep coming back to or plan on purchasing again.
Currently in my cup is Adagio's Chestnut tea. It's gone rather cold, but it still tastes good.
