In my work cup this morning: Bao Zhong from Rishi
Expecting a teaware delivery today, hope it comes!!
Like several have already mentioned, I usually start with the standard parameters. After that, I tend to experiment quite a bit because, even after I get results that I really like out of a tea, there’s always that nagging feeling that maybe it could be even better... I just don't trust myself or my taste buds enough yet.
Genmaicha in my cup.

Been working so much lately, haven't had time to drink much tea.
Currently on my third steep of Adagio Oolong #8. Using my new gaiwan set from teaspring. I'm enjoying it, as it's my first teaware besides my IngenuiTEA. The aroma cup was broken on arrival, they told me they'd send me a new one quickly. Was anxious to come home yesterday and open the package, heh.
I tend to use the same parameters with a new tea, then experiment. And as already said, if I can't get it right, search the internet for the correct answer.

Hi All,
I tend to experiment quite a bit since really I'm so new to loose leaf teas.
In my cup today:
My tea buddy brewed Russian Caravan...mmmm, strong, smokey...mmmm, good.
This afternoon I'm mellowing out with some Kabusecha.
Great pics of tea and new teaware lately here on the old teachat!
Happy Teasday everybuddy,

Definitely an experimenter....I feel like I'm always trying to be sure I've gotten everything that the tea has to offer.
So glad to see so many familiar faces here at TeaChat.

In my cup, HouDe's Frankenstein Dan Cong http://www.houdeasianart.com/index.php? ... cts_id=909

I have often struggled to brew Dan Cong, but today... I think I got it right. What was the problem? I was missing the key element of air. Click on the "WWW" icon if you want to read about how I changed my brewing style. (I didn't think it would be appropriate to post a link to my own blog)

I just realized how long it had been since I'd seen a good Tea Day photo.Salsero wrote:Good to see you Katrina! Welcome home. Is it the TeaChat makeover that you found irresistible or our scintillating personalities?
When I saw the make-over I was almost worried I'd wandered into the wrong place...(jk - looks great!)

Feng Huang Shui Xian with my wife.
I bought it in December 2005 from Harney and sat this aside back then because it was not particularly "balanced,"
but now 3+ years later it was pretty impressive. The fire/peach pit of the first steep gave way to a more fruity 2nd steep,
pretty impressive. I am not a huge fan of more roasted type oolong which this certainly appears to be,
but this was a big improvement with the albeit careless aging. I will continue brewing this well through the evening I think.
