HAPPY BIRTHDAY CHIP!
This month, I drank a lot of oolongs. I thought I was going to be drinking more greens, but guess not.
Right now, about to try out a white tea from Zhi Tea, ambrosia. Smells lovely.
Hi Olivier. How do you brew your Ippodo gyokuro and sencha? Have you ever followed their brewing guidelines? or do you follow general best practices?olivierco wrote:Green: wakamatsu no mukashi matcha or Kanro gyokuro which I have been drinking as daily gyokuro for the last weeks.
Kanro gyokuro in a few minutes.
I just received an order of kanro and kaboku, which I ordered because I know you like both of them. They should be openwithin two or three weeks.
About to brew some O-Cha Yutaka Midori to toast Chip on his Birthday.
EDIT: I realized that YM is more appropriate than Yame gyo to toast Chip.

Happy B-Day, Chip!
I feel like such a traitor because I voted Green this month since I've been really liking Genmaicha. But after I thought a bit more, I also really enjoyed Sweet Flower Oolong from TeaSource (tung ting oolong with osthmanthus)
This morning I stuck to my Dark Side roots with some Irish Breakfast.
Happy Birthday, Chip!
Green for me, yet again. I think it is currently a toss up between Den's Sakura Sencha and the Gyokuro sample from Yuuki-Cha that I received in a tea swap with Gingko.
Currently in my cup is some Den's Guricha. I upped the amount of leaf this time around and it finally tastes decent. Two heaping teaspoons in the 10oz kyusu and water from the Zoji at 195*F with a non-preheated pot to the drop the temperature to where it is supposed to be worked so much better than my other attempts.

Shucks ...
Thanks for all the birthday wishes. Ha, I was going to do a related poll, but chickened out.
Coincidentally, it is International Forum Moderator Day, a day set aside for forum members to buy the mods presents!!!
Began the TeaDay with O-Cha's Chiran Supreme (Yutaka Midori's little bro') Excellent, as SweeTea can attest. Lots of birthday wishers stopped by the TeaTable for an impromtu TeaPartay. Lili and Bear made a very rare cameo, TEAh, Wulong, Pyrit, Lil Bit, Gandalf and Katie ... it was a pretty busy kitchen!

blah blah blah SENCHA blah blah blah!!!
Green for me. Not one in particular, but I suppose I have been drinking a lot of sencha lately. I am not sure what next month will bring as far as tea goes. More greens for sure, but I really can't tell what my answer to this question will be a month from now. Time will tell.
Right now Vanilla Bean black tea from mighty leaf at a coffee shop. Trying to relax and kill time before my next class and the rest of my hectic day. It is nice.

How did you brew this gyokuro, everytime I brewed it like gyokuro, I felt like I was doing something wrong?Cinnamon Kitty wrote:Green for me, yet again. I think it is currently a toss up between Den's Sakura Sencha and the Gyokuro sample from Yuuki-Cha that I received in a tea swap with Gingko.
Trying to think what I want next ...

Happy Birthday Chip! As an honorary example of International Forum Moderator Day behavior, I'd suggest you send me one beautiful hagi ware kyusu or cup, pronto (I suppose you can skip that if you wish)
Today it's a delicious and rather full bodied Yunnan gold tip tea...nice fluffy leaves! I'd be happier if this one gave me more steeps, but the full body is unmistakable. Yum.

In my work cup: Floating Leaves Tea - Farmer's Choice
Baozhong, the last of my stash.

Oh, forgot, my fave tea for the month. No surprise, it was Japanese green, but I had several new ones and old ones that were quite good. I will have to think about this today.
For Janine, not exactly new, but gave this Hagi guinome (small sake cup) by Yamane Seigan its trial run today. There is more under info/pics under the Hagi topic.
