What check? We had to pay about 8k this year so no fun purchases with my non-existent refund check!

Today is going to be a good day, I can feel it. I am finally feeling better - yay! Not 100% yet, but much happier. I got a new iPod this weekend (8gig was no longer doing it so I got a big un) so I'm playing with that today. I have a fun new fountain pen with pink ink (whooo!) and the big boss man is only coming in for a birthday celebration. So all things converge to mean today should rock! :D Oh, and good tea this morning, too - organic Ceylon this morning. I was iffy on the last Ceylon I had... it tasted of raspberries which was good - if one enjoyed raspberries, which I don't so much.

No refund here, but even if I had one I wouldn't spend it on tea. My tea budget is pretty solid and, with the addition of Japanese greens this year, I'm a little over budget already.

O-Cha's Yame Gyokuro in my cup right now. I tried something different that increased the umami and the flavor for the first three infusions, but it seemed to give all that it had for those three infusions and then it was played out.
1. 3.3gr/50ml at 100F for 120secs
2. 3.3gr/100ml at 100F poured immediately
3. 3.3gr/100ml at 120F for 15 seconds
Fourth brew was at 140F. It had a little flavor and mouth-feel remaining but its final echo was in this brew.

Miniscule refund that will go towards bills.

Ceylon Supreme Flowery in the cup. Keemun later on.

Like most people I did not get much money back either. I am glad that a few people have though. In my cup rishi ancient moonlight white. I guess will have to use the money for tea and other things I like when I can.

Maybe we're all really patriotic and are trying to pay down the national debt. :?

There is money spent on tea, but money is money, tax return money isn't different from money from other sources. Many of us spend money *in name of* tax return, and I know some people spending the "tax return" money twice or more :P

No income tax check in France, but I guess if I had received one, I wouldn't spend more money on tea, but perhaps some on teaware, for instance

I ALWAYS pay

I'm self-employed and pay at tax time (versus quarterly estimations). Which isn't too bad because I'm not giving the gov't a free loan and instead my money is sitting in savings :)

In Canada you can deduct money from your taxable income at tax time if you contribute to something called a Registered Retirement Savings Plan (RRSP). I always contribute enough to get the same amount back in a refund. I then use the refund to pay down the loan I took out to contribute to the plan. Investment income or compound interest accrues tax free as long as you keep if within the RRSP. Ergo - no tea for me.

Three steeps of sencha fuka-midori this morning. I'm going through my 50 grams of fuka-midori like a drunken sailor on a Saturday night. That phrase doesn't really work in this context does it?

Pretty interesting murrius!

In my cup this morning Adagio Nepal FF, I thought I was out, but found a second
sample tin. I really like this one.

Have a nice day everyone!

I will likely rub the 2 pennies I get together and wish for a great shincha.

Started the TeaDay with Yabe Organic from Yuuki-Cha, very good, but my taste was off today, but still goodness. Actually, my sense of smell is off.

Next up, Fukamushi Supreme from O-Cha. Good tea, but I am running a few cylinders short today ... :(

They are just about 40000Y (400$) shipping costs not included. No impulsive buying then.

Last bits of White Symphony and Silver Needles ... "grandfather style," both from Adagio and both outstanding and both oustanding together! It was a cat conveyor belt at the TeaTable ...

Thinking Matcha in a bit ... in a new bowl that just arrived from Japan, a non Hagi chawan BTW!
blah blah blah SENCHA blah blah blah!!!
